Y/N kneels on the ground, her mother's blood staining her clothes. She shakes the woman, preying for any sign of life left. Any chance of a miracle occurring, but It never does. Blood covers her hands and arms as she cries out in agony. Screams fill the room with a sense of despair. It seems to encapsulate everyone to witness this moment that cares for them.
A silhouetted figure walks across the rocky platform towards Sparks and within a singular second, hits her hard enough to pull the girl out of her head.
Y/N leans over to the opposing side of her seat, the sound of the slap ringing through her head.
"WHY?!" Bellatrix yells at her. "WHY IS IT, That someone who proclaims huge promises, turns out to be THE BIGGEST, Disappointment?!"
The girl looks up to her, clenching her teeth and swallowing her dignity. "go again...."
A sadistic smile crawls across Lestrange's face. "LEGILIMENS!!!"
Non-existent claws cling onto Y/N's skull, digging deeper and deeper. As if a bear was grasping onto her with its mouth.
Her hands tense onto the arms of the chair, clinging onto any other point of focus.
The pain seems to grow stronger slowly the more she resists it. The temptation to let go and give in waves its finger at her, almost pulling her towards it. A large part of her wants to follow it; the most humane and weaker part. It seems to attract to that temptation like they're two magnets.
Sparks hangs on to the smaller part of her, the minority of her that begs the rest to wait. The small and admittedly darker part of her that knows this is temporary; the rational and calculated side.
She listens to the latter. Instead of focusing on escaping, Y/N forces her body to push through. Accepting the pain as what it is, she sits tense but doesn't panic.
The claws ease their cling ever so slightly, giving a bit of line. Only it isn't by choice.
Before she knows it, they let go.
Sparks keeps her eyes closed for a moment, before opening. She finds Lestrange standing a metre away from her, not pleased, but not upset.
"It seems," The woman walks around her, "The Dark Lord may have use for you."
She heads towards the door, speaking on the way. "You'll come here again tomorrow. IF, you can prove competent then, I'll declare you ready."
Y/N stands up from her seat and wipes the sweat from her forehead, satisfied with herself.
