Ravi
I'm just about to give up when I hear a loud meow and a cat comes running in my direction! However, just as it's about to reach me it turns left and I hear a girl start talking to it! Shit! Has she seen me stare into the garden? Should I pretend I didn't? Do I run or talk to her?! Am I crazy or is a girl sitting in the rose bush next to me?! I instinctively bite my nails trying to make up my mind of what to do but as I'm a slow thinker I just end up standing there until my trance is interrupted by a soft "Hi".
I look at the girl before me with a gaping mouth. She's the most ethereal looking person I've ever seen with freckles on her face and a long flowing skirt. "What's your name?" she asks nicely. "Uhm, it's Ravi...and yours?" I manage to respond though extremely awkwardly. "I'm Kalinda, Kal for short." I'm surprised as she answers with a smile that I don't deserve acting like a total weirdo. "You can call me Rav, for short I mean!" I regret my words as soon as they leave my mouth but she just laughs. "Okay, Rav. This is Lurvan." she's obviously referring to the cat in her arms and I finally remember to close my mouth after continuing to stare at her lips instead of the tuxedo cat she's talking about. "Can I pet Lurv? I mean Lurvan!" she laughs at me and I can't help but to laugh with her. "If she lets you then you're special cause she's actually very shy." as she says so she takes a step closer holding the cat within reach for me. I carefully let the cat smell my finger before gently stroking its head. "She likes you!" she gasps excitedly making the cat turn in her arms and run away.Kalinda
"Sorry!" I exclaim as the cat runs off, the strange man looks at me amused. "You.. you're so beautiful." I crinkle my eyebrows but can't help but to smile as I see his cheeks turning a deep red. "Thank you." I say before remembering what just happened. "Lurvan let you pet her! You're approved!" I can't help but to shout when I'm excited, it's a bad habit. He smiles widely and I think that he's adorable but quickly remind myself of the fact that he's actually kinda creepy. "So what are you doing staring into our garden?" I cross my arms trying to assert dominance over the tall man that's at least twice my weight. "I'm so sorry I just love your garden, I promise I'm not a creep, I'm so sorry." something in his voice makes me trust him and I nood reassuringly. "Do you want to come inside?" I may be naive but his warm smile makes me feel safe as he excitedly fidgets with his fingers. "I'd love to!" I show him to the gate and let him inside. "Thank you, Kal." I giggle as I get reminded of him nervously giving my cat a new nickname earlier.
I show him around the garden as I tell him the story about how Lurvan immediately loved me making me a part of the family. He seems nervous and doesn't ask any more questions about it but a part of me is relieved to not have to tell the whole story about why I moved here. "How old are you?" it's always scary to ask, particularly if you find someone attractive. "Seventeen, and you?" relieved I answer him, "Sixteen." I smile and he smiles right back at me. "Do you want to sit down?" he nods and does that hand thing again.
I show him to my special spot and gestures for him to take a seat on the blanket.
