———————-Booming echoed in his ears in a hazy version as he walked through the crowd of people. Ray could feel the vibration of the music reverberating through the floor. He had lost Mew about 10 minutes ago when he was swept away by a slender man he didn't recognize.
Ray was now layed sprawled out in a booth, checking his phone once again as he repeatedly did throughout the night, hoping to see if Sand had changed his mind about coming out to the club for Ray's birthday. As he tapped through his notifications, he realized with disappointment that he still hadn't received a message from Sand.
They had been seeing each other for a couple of months now, and Ray was eagerly anticipating the moment when Sand would finally ask him out officially. However, in the days leading up to his birthday, Sand seemed increasingly distant. He wasn't messaging Ray as often as before and would make excuses when he'd asked if they could hang out. "I'm back," Mew stumbled back to the table, obviously very drunk. "Are you okay?" he shouted over the sea of noise and chatter. "Hey, I asked if you were okay," Mew bent over, shaking Ray's shoulder. "I think I'm gonna throw up,". Ray quickly got up, covering his mouth in response.
Ray pushed through the crowd of dancing people, rushing quickly for the restroom before he had that chance threw up everywhere.
As he stumbled one to the restroom before he even entered the hallway to the restroom, Ray noticed a familiar figure that made his heart sink like a weight. Ray grabbed his aching heart as he recognized the man—it was Sand, and he was kissing a woman.
Ray gagged at the sight of the two making out, causing both Sand and the woman to break apart from their embrace and look towards the source of the noise. Sand's eyes widened. "Ray?" he said lightly. Ray knew he had to get out of there; he couldn't bear the sight of Sand with someone else. "Wait!" he shouted, trying to stop him, but it was too late. Ray had already begun to run out of the club.
Ray successfully held back his urge to vomit until he reached outside. As he ran to his car parked nearby, he couldn't contain his emotions. Gasping for air, tears began to flood from his eyes.
He quickly searched his pockets for his car keys, found them, and started the car. Ray pulled out of the parking lot and drove quickly down the street. The road was dark, illuminated only by the headlights, allowing Ray to see only as far as they reached. Only a minute had passed before Ray felt the vibrations from his phone, indicating a flurry of notifications from Sand, who was desperately trying to reach him.
Ray picked up his phone from his pants pocket, distracted by the flurry of notifications from Sand, and didn't notice he was about to collide with another car. In a split-second reaction, Ray swerved sharply to avoid the collision, but the sudden maneuver caused his car to veer off the road and flip over. The very last thing he remembered was the sound of shouting before everything went dark.
