Syd's Pov:

I walk into Physch class ready for another one of professor Rizzis infamous projects. I take my  now usual seat in the back next to Paige where I'm greeted with a smile. "Hey" she says as she hands me my Starbucks order.

"Paige you don't have to do this all the time" I say to her. I thought  it was only a one time thing.

She just gives me a shrug.

We wait for professor Rizzi to show up but she never does.

"she has a tendency to take 'mental health days' and not tell anyone" Paige recalls from her class last year. I really wasn't feeling up for a project today, i am really tired. I had to stay up all night to finish a research paper.

After 10 minutes everyone gets up and starts to leave the classroom.  "You got anything going on right now? Paige asks me as we rise from our seats.

"Yeah for what?" I question.

"You can come over to mine to grab my Jersey for the game on Friday. Plus you've never been to my apartment and I've been to your multiple times" she says as we walk towards the parking lot.

"Sure. I have my car here so I'll just drive to yours from here. Text me your address" I unlock my car.

"For sure. See you in 10" she says as she gets into her black jeep.

I immediately get a text from her with her address and start the drive.

Monday 10:00 am- September

I pull up outside the athlete dorm building and see Paige leaning against the hood of her car. I pull into a spot close to her and meet her by the door. "Long time no see Pay" I joke.

"you have the same jokes as my dad" she lightly shoves my shoulder .

"Your dad must be hilarious then". She holds the door open for me to walk in. She guided me through a nice hallway that looks like it's been recently renovated to an elevator.

"No way" I say with my mouth gaping open. Why do they get an elevator and we don't. Maybe because my rent is ridiculously low?

"The amount of times I've heard you complain about that elevator, you might just have to become an athlete" she says as she presses the up button.

"Oh yeah and what sport would I play?" I have the coordination of a new born baby.

"Basketball of course" she says as if it's the most obvious thing.

"Watch out I might just steal your spot"

"Amoung other things" she said under her breath as the elevator opens and we start to walk down another long clean hallway.

"What?" I ask. I was confused what she meant by that. Maybe I heard the ring thing?

"My jersey" she responds. "You're stealing my jersey too" she explains to me her joke. I don't know why she wouldn't just outright say that but ok.
