This chapter starts from when Charlie took Jeff home after leaving garage that day.
Okay 👌

We are going to see a little snippet of their past at Chen foundation home. It will be mainly from Charlie's point of view.

It's quite abrupt though. Like one moment it's present and then it's about past. I didn't put any mark or something as i think it will disturb the flow a bit but if any of you find it troublesome then do let me know.

If there are any mistakes whether of grammar or spellings please feel free to point them out to me. Constructive criticism and suggestions are always welcomed.

Happy reading ahead.
Make sure to drink lots of water.

After leaving garage along with Jeff, Charlie drove Jeff's car to their condo. The car ride was silent, Jeff didn't feel like talking and Charlie didn't wanted to overwhelm him. After reaching their condo he let Jeff go in while he parked the car.

When Charlie came in, Jeff was sitting in the living room lost in his thoughts. Charlie got him some water to drink and settled down beside him, he noticed how Jeff squirmed a little with his presence and he knew his brother isn't very comfortable to talk about all the mess that happened today.

"Jeff you aren't hurt anywhere right." Charlie needed to make sure that nothing like this happened.

Jeff shook his head a little and looked at his P'. "I am fine, P'. Just a headache."

Charlie sighed a little and nodded his head. "You must be tired, you should take an early rest today. Should I help you build your nest."

Jeff only nodded once. Charlie knew Jeff is exhausted due to the events that happened earlier in the day. They both went to Jeff's room to start on building his nest.

Charlie grabbed all the blankets, pillows, stuff toys that he knew Jeff likes to have in his nest along with some of his softest shirts. When every thing was settled down in the room, he helped Jeff build the base of his nest and then he was being shoed out of his room. Whenever Jeff allowed him to help build his nest, he was only allowed to do so much after that Jeff wants to make his nest on his own and Charlie never fights him on this, he knew that this somehow brings comfort to his brother.

With a last look over his shoulders, he went to make dinner for them. They both were famished right now and he really can't have his brother skip his dinner specially with a headache.

By the time dinner was ready, he knew that Jeff must have already completed building his nest long before. So he put his food on plates and went to his room. Jeff was already settled in his nest, nearly dozing off when he came into his room.

"Jeff have your dinner before sleeping." He said while still standing close to the door of his room. "Can i come close to your nest." He asked with a soft voice that nearly melted Jeff."

Jeff opened his eyes and looked at his brother first then his eyes widened a little when he looked at food. He quickly sat straight and motioned for his brother to cone close.

After making sure that Jeff is fed properly, he tucked him in bed and patted his head lightly till he felt into a deep slumber. He padded all over his room to clear up any mess that they had left before, turned off all lights and left his room while lightly closing the door as to not make noise.

He came back into his room and tried to calm himself down. The utter need to protect Jeff right now is killing him, knowing he couldn't protect his brother today that somehow he put his brother in danger himself. He is solely responsible for his brother's situation right now. He couldn't protect him, even after all this time he still can't do the one job that he should have done properly. He was right. Their father was right. Charlie really was useless.
