Rajveer went to his lecture, hiding what he saw day before. He knew that it was too early to determine anything, therefore, he decided to lay low and pay attention before reaching any conclusion.
The cadets, as usual, were excited for his lecture. Throughout the lecture, Rajveer's eyes were mentally scanning the cadets, noting their body language and their acquaintances.
Naina saw this shift in his eyes. She didn't know if anyone noticed this or not, but there was something different about Captain Shekhawat, today. Rajveer's gaze landed on Naina. For few seconds, both of them, studied and read each other's eyes, trying to figure out what the other was thinking.
Rajveer was slightly taken aback by the confidence and the intensity in Naina's eyes. He averted his gaze and continued his lecture.
'What was that?' Naina thought to herself.
When the lecture ended, they were informed about the Fresher's ball. Needless to say, the cadets jumped with excitement.
The entire academy burst with chatters as the cadets were rushing here and there, excited for their Fresher's on the weekend.
Everyone was busy in searching for their partners. Huda as usual, strutted to Naina in confidence.
"Oye Madam Ji, can I have a minute with you please?" Huda said, confidently.
"I wouldn't even spare a second on you." Naina retorted and continued to sip on her coffee, while Pooja almost choked on hers.
Huda's smile faltered. "Oh come on, for how long will you keep staying mad at me."
"Huda, give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you..." Naina stated casually and Huda paled.
The faculties were watching this scene from across the room and Shalini chuckled.
"For how long, they'll keep fighting like kids." Shalini chuckled softly.
"For as long as Huda doesn't understand the fact, that he needs to give her time to adjust and get used to this life..." Rajveer said in a quiet whisper, careful not to be heard.
"What do you mean, Captain?" Shalini turned to look at him.
Rajveer looked up at Shalini's curious expression and sighed as he explained, "It's evident, isn't it? When a person experiences something tragic in his life, he becomes closed-off and guarded. She'll certainly need time to lower her guards and be at ease with unknown people. Huda is not wrong.. he is just... what's the word... carefree...." Rajveer says and turns to look at the two of them, bickering like kids.
Both Shalini and Rajveer shook their heads.
All these matters died down, eventually, as the classes continued going on.
Soon, there was an announcement, that said that all the students were to gather in the hall.
The chatters began once again, as the cadets got curious. Nevertheless, they reached the hall on time.
Brigadier Chandok heard the cadets mutter and said in a loud voice, "Look at you all, no discipline at all. Stand straight and keep quiet". Silence fell into the room after this.
"I know that you all are excited for the Fresher's ball, but how many of you actually know how to dance." Brigadier said as he looked at the cadets, who were busy looking at one another. He just shook his head, until Huda raised his hand.
"Well, Sir Ji, I am a very good dancer. My mother says that I dance like Hritik Roshan." He said in a confident voice and Yudi hit his forehead.
Ali pulled Huda's sleeves as he whispered in his ear, "Oh ho, Huda Ji... he is talking about formal dance, not bollywood dance."
