While Seraphina was sleeping in the living room, John and Cameron were in their room discussing their plans.
"What would you like to do?" Cameron asked, sitting at his desk.
"Saving my mother, avenging my father, and freeing my friends from prison," John answered while sitting in the chair across from the table.
"So how do you plan to do it?" Cameron asked, preparing to light a cigarette.
"With the help of my shitty uncle, of course," John replied tentatively.
"Also, don't light a cigarette," John added.
Cameron paused for a moment and returned the cigarette to his pocket."Look, brat, I don't care about your friends. All I want is to save my sister. If you want to break your friends out of prison, go ahead and do it, but don't ask for my help," Cameron said, slightly annoyed.
"In fact, no, you can't go rescue your friends! Unless you want to face death again!" Cameron added.
John's eyebrow rose and he asked, "Why is that?"
"Are you crazy!? The old and new kings of Wellston were caught for defying authority. Do you think they would put those two in a normal prison? No, I'm sure they are in one of the most secure prisons in the world right now," Cameron said sarcastically.
"Which one?" John asked solemnly. Faced with this attitude, Cameron also became serious.
"Look, kid, I kind of understand how you feel. My sister is being held captive far away from me and I can't do anything. But if you want to save them, you have to risk dying. Would you risk something like that while that girl called 'Sera' is sleeping downstairs?" Cameron asked seriously. John just swallowed hard at this question.
In response, John threw his head back and leaned fully into the chair he was sitting in.
"But I have to do something! Those two were captured just to save me. If I don't save them, I'll be abandoning them!" John exclaimed.
"Think carefully, brat! Also, go to sleep; you look like a raccoon with those bags under your eyes," Cameron said, practically kicking John out of his room.As soon as John left, Cameron lit his cigarette.
"Sister, why does your son have the same temperament as you...?" Cameron asked himself as he blew smoke from his cigarette.
As John left Cameron's room and descended the stairs, he saw Seraphina sleeping on the couch, looking very innocent. Without disturbing Seraphina at all, he quietly made his way to the room where he woke up. As soon as he entered the room, he took off his t-shirt and examined the wounds on his body. Each of the wounds was mortal, leaving scars of shame on his body for the rest of his life.
"DAMN!" John exclaimed, frustration evident in his voice.
"Sylvia, every single member of authority, I will hold them all accountable," John said angrily.
Then he looked at the bags under his eyes. They were even bigger than when he was king. It was as if every pain he had experienced in his life was gathered together and experienced all at once.
"Never again from now on," he said, making a promise to himself.
"I will never lose from now on. I will not draw my last breath until I make them experience the pain they caused me, one by one, and until I dismantle the authority and order," he vowed determinedly.
While John was talking to himself in his room, Seraphina opened her eyes on the couch where she had fallen asleep.
"Hmm, I slept well," she said, rubbing her eyes. Engaging with her phone, Seraphina checked the time, noting it was midnight. Ensuring the rest of the household was asleep, she remained seated on the couch, absorbed in her device.
While on her phone, she noticed that Leilah was online and decided to text her.
"Sis, are you okay? How's Doc?" Seraphina asked in a message. But there was no answer.
She texted again, but once more, there was no response.
"I guess she's sleeping," she murmured, then proceeded to occupy herself with other activities.
