Elena 1944 MediaCon

Kathryn Bernardo has indeed had a remarkable career, and her achievements speak volumes about her talent and hard work. Her journey in the entertainment industry continues to captivate audiences, and her versatility shines whether she's working on mainstream or indie projects. Elena 1944, her upcoming period film is sure to be another exciting addition to her impressive filmography.

The conference host introduced the press members by name, and they will be asking questions. Unlike previous media conferences, Kathryn did not request any filtering of queries beforehand.

"Kat, your contemporaries in the industry are currently working in love teams and achieving success in their projects. Can we expect to see you in a love team as well in the future?"

"Naku. Parang matanda na po tayo para dyan. Although, wala namang masama if that happens but I don't think I'd like the idea of being boxed.  Masaya naman po ako sa takbo ng career ko at sa mga projects na binibigay sa akin."

The press representative thanked Kathryn and handed the microphone to the person behind him, but someone else took it instead.

"Speaking of mga projects na binibigay, we've heard you are picky. Totoo ba to?"

"Yes, I pick the projects that I want to do. If being picky is the term, then yes, I am picky."

Kathryn handled the situation gracefully. Despite the unexpected turn of events, she remained composed and professional. Instead of making a fuss, she adapted to the change and continued with the media conference. Her ability to stay calm and flexible in such moments reflects her experience and maturity in dealing with press interactions.

"Hindi ka ba natatakot na balang araw, ayawan ka na ng mga producers?"

"Ayawan dahil...?"

"Dahil sa masamang ugali mo."

The crowd gasped. It was the first time that Kathryn received such a remark from a member of the press. While she was aware that she had her share of critics (bashers), she was surprised to face this particular blow at this moment.

Before she could speak, the director of the film intervened.

"Kapatid," he faced the media guy, "I don't think that our artist deserves such kind of words. Let me just share this to everyone here, ako po ay director at co-producer din po ng film na to and dalawa pang films na ginawa ni Kathryn in the past, I can assure you that Kathryn has always been professional and respectful. Kung may inaayawan man syang projects na pinipitch sa kanya, she sees to it na sya mismo ang magpapaliwanag sa production or sa writers. She is smart. She knows what she wants. I think that's what sets her apart sa ibang artists. And c'mon, every character she does is gold and translates to ROI. Let's be honest here, she doesn't need the movie industry. The industry needs her."

"Or baka naman po mapili sa mga proyekto lately, ayaw ng may kapareha, dahil ang totoo, kasal na sya at seloso ang asawa nya?"

Direk signaled their staff to silence the press person, but Kathryn reassured them that it was okay. Namukhaan nya rin yung nagtanong-- publicist ng co-actor nya before.

"I don't do TV series. I don't do love teams. I am hands on with my projects ever since, kahit noong single pa ako," she paused for a while and just let go. All these years, she has maintained privacy throughout her acting career but she doesn't want anybody ruin her narrative and her husband's reputation. "Yes, I am married. I am a happy wife to a man who is secured and is very supportive of what I do. So I assure you, He doesn't interfere with my work decisions because he trusts my professional judgment, walang nagdidikta sa akin, and if you perceive anything negatively, I have nothing to say to you anymore but thank you... for outing my private matters before I can do it on my preferred timeline," she smiled. "Next question po."
