Note: Your parents can look however you want. Your dad just happens to still have that kind look and soul in his eyes that travelled through the family lineage.

The truck in front of your house was the moving company. You've placed the last box into the back of the truck before the two men closed the door.

Your mother walked towards you with a smile and took you into her arms for an embrace.

"You take care of your father."

"Well someone has to deal with his sword fixation." You chuckle, letting her go with your hands on her shoulders. Even though your parents were divorcing, and everything was changing, you still loved her. "Love you."

She shrugs you off, shaking her hand and scoffing, "Y/N, please, Ill still be here." She gets closer to you, whispering something, "You text me if you want to have real fun insted of 'sword fightin' with your dad."

A giggle erupted from your throat at her words.

After your mother pulls back, you glance over at your father, who is chatting with the movers, likely making sure everything is secured properly in the truck. He’s always been meticulous.. only when it was someone else handling his interesting collections.

Your mother sighs, her expression softening as she looks at you. "I know it's a big change, but your dad and I just couldn't make it work. This way, everyone gets a fresh start."

You nod, understanding but still feeling the weight of the situation. "I know, Mom. I’ll miss you, though." She smiles, brushing a strand of hair away from your face. "I'll miss you too. But remember, it's not like I'm disappearing. We’ll still see each other plenty."

She stares at you for a minute, taking in your features. You were their child,

"You share the same kindness in your eyes like your father." She sighs, patting your shoulder with a smile, "Good luck on listening to your father about h—"

"You dont have to rub it in." A pout formed on your face.

Your father approaches, keys in hand, ready to hit the road. "Alright, Y/N, time to go. Say your goodbyes." He looks at your mother and squints at her in feigned disgust, "Witch."

"Cockroach."

"You take that back—"

Arms separated the two from having a duel of harsh insults and condescending glances.

"Let's go before I eat grass." You mutter, glancing between your mother and your father. The movers already starting the truck, waiting to follow you guys to the new house location.

They both quit bickering, sharing their last goodbyes, your dad returning to his car and waiting for you to come to the passenger seat.

You look back at your mother with a smile and wave, watching her wave back as you enter the passenger seat.

The car engine rumbles when your dad twists the keys before he starts to drive off. You make sure to wave back at your mother until she was nothing but a black dot in your view.
