"third, we need more supplies" asuka said

"just use the replicator" i said offhandedly

"i am tired of that fake food, third, we WILL stop to get food" asuka said

"you can leave whenever you wish, the last time we stopped the nemesis series caught up to us, i will not make the same mistake twice" i said, asuka flinched at that, in the years since the two have been stuck together, she had watched this shinji change from the wimpy boy she remembered from her universe to almost a perfect copy of gendo, just with different goals, shinji simply wishes to be left alone, gendo wants his wife back, and will do anything in his power to achieve that goal

"shinji, this ship needs fuel, if we do not get some, we will be stranded then not only will your father find us, but we will have no way of escaping" asuka said, trying a different tactic

"that problem has been solved, we are currently running solely off an AT-field through the use of EVA unit-01" i said, her eye twitched in annoyance, she could leave, but then there would be no one to stop shinji from doing something very stupid, in an attempt to permanently put a stop to his father, she had to stop three suicide attempts thus far

"when is our next jump" asuka asked decided yet another tactic

"three days, the S2 engine will have recharged it's power in that time" i replied, asuka said

they learned very early on that repeated use of the S2 engine for interdimensional jumps was a good way to drain and even kill an S2 engine, and so they had learned that they had to give the core time to 'recharge'

"fine, i'm taking a pelican and going exploring" asuka said

"if you are not back, before the recharge is complete-" i started

"i'll be left behind, i know, i know, you've said repeatedly" asuka said cutting him off, he waved asuka away, as she left him to whatever he was working on now, making sure she had some supplies and a rifle for defensive purposes, she disembarked the hillsborough-class destroyer: heracles, which the two had called home for some years, with shinji burying himself, deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole, that was creating a new ayanami series, and a new series of evangelions, all with the exact purpose of counteracting the nemesis series

asuka expected many things after leaving the heracles, what she didn't expect was to become the pilot of giant red lion, and one of the four cadets to become the defenders of the universe, yet here she was, she had fortunately convinced shinji not to leave immediately but to stick around

this was not their first occurrence with a voltron, though this one was significantly less dangerous, then the other one they encountered, the problem was it was also significantly less powerful, and it was only asuka's experience facing foes stronger then her, that cemented her place on the team, she enjoyed piloting the lion but it made her miss her evangelion, and the comfort that it brought

"you said that a fifth would come" allura said, asuka paused

"he's different, i will need to convince him first, but his skill is not to be scoffed at, as much as i hate admitting it, he is stronger then me" asuka said, the three other cadets stared at her, that was high praise from asuka

"what's he like" larmina asked

"you'll see, it's hard to describe" asuka said

"SORYU" i roared at the top of my lungs

"he is also angry with me" asuka said, as a very irate shinji ikari walked up

"shinji" asuka greeted

"what happens if the nemesis series come, do you intend to invite them into that battle" i asked sharply

"they will be dealt with" asuka promised

"oh really, you can guarantee that can you, i remember we had an entire army backing us and we still lost, badly" i said, asuka flinched

"they simply weren't prepared for what was coming, we have learned" asuka said

"oh, really, you wouldn't mind if i tested that would you" i asked, with a snap of my fingers as unit-01 crashed down behind me, asuka stood determined however

"i truly believe that they are capable of helping us" asuka said

"then fetch your overgrown house-cats let's see if you can beat one unit, if you can't well there is no way you will be able to defeat the oncoming hoard" i said
