briar was sitting next to hail, her tail curled around her paws. she as talking to him, even though she knew he probably couldn't hear her. but he might, and she wouldn't want him to think she'd contacted lockjaw. "...and then the great wolf of the sky came running to meet the wolf of the water, their son, the wolf of the earth hanging from her jaws. he would grow to be a great leader. but the wolf of rain sat to the side, looking bitterly at the wolf of the sky, and his father, the wolf of the sun, and that's why when it rains...." she continued.

Hail's right ear twitched, was that... Briar? He was positive that was her voice. Warmth filled him from his toes to his ears, he couldn't have a better daughter. He cracked one eye open, and looked at her. He slowly moved one paw to rest it on one of her's. His eyes held gratitude, saying everything he couldn't.
(I was thinking that Hail goes mute, his throat wound harmed his vocal cords, or he wheezes when he speaks...)

oh dear skoll.... do i want to know?) briar curled up next to him like she used to, tying to provide some form of comfort. though she was a lot bigger, and it took a lot more effort not to squish his paw or something. she probably looked completely ridiculous. she didn't really care though.

Hail smiled tiredly and lay his chin on her shoulder, staring at nothing. Outwardly he seemed calm, collected, but inwardly he was in chaos. He couldn't speak right... He hadn't tried yet, but somehow he knew. 'Why? Why did you do this to me? Who are you?'

Jara looked around the tunnel. It was just to dark! She couldn't go back the way she came so she had to keep straight. She padded blindly down the dark tunnel for what seemed liked hours before she heard water. She rushed toward the sound and then stopped as she saw a wide pool of water. "Wow...its a underground water tunnel" she said. She breathed in and smelled something else. Somebody else was here with her. "H...hello? Anybody here?" she called out softly.
