Despite landing what seemed like a big blow to the assassin in front of her, it was apparent that the kido used by Kanao had no effect on him due to the state she was in from giving Y/N some of her power on the day they first met.

Zabuza: You'll have your turn soon enough little girl but before I deal with you, I will finish executing your boyfriend here.

Y/N: I'm not her!-----

Before the defeated samurai could reject Zabuza's claims, the assassin dashes in towards the direction of where both samurais stood with Kanao being a bit further forward than Y/N was. Even with her experience as a lieutenant of one of the squads in Soul Society, Kanao was caught off guard from Zabuza as he swiftly charges past her as he approaches his prey.

Kanao: Y/N!

Y/N: Crap!

Only needing one attack to end things, Zabuza swings his sword against the head of the boy who did not have a chance to defend himself. A splatting sound would usually be heard upon impact between flesh and blade but in this scenario, everyone was met with a different sound.

*CLANG!*

The reason being was because Zabuza's blade called Kubikiribocho was instead met with a kunai rather than Y/N's head. Despite this save, the blow was strong enough to knock the wielder of the kunai away while disarming them in the process. The wielder of it was none other than Naruto Uzumaki who reached his best friend on time before the samurai's life was cut short.

Naruto: Ooof!

The kunai he once wielded was not the only thing Naruto lost from that blow as the impact also caused his Konoha ninja headband to loosen up and separate from his forehead. Concerned for the wellbeing of his saviour rather than his own, Y/N turns his gaze to Naruto as the ninja's body was sent flying in midair.

Y/N: Naruto!

Finally, Naruto's body lands on his back and while it was a painful experience, Naruto immediately gets up with a bit of struggle due to the initial pain which relieves Y/N of his concern. While it was indeed a painful period for his best friend, the samurai knew that he was going to be alright. With that out of the way, Y/N turns his head to his enemy.

Y/N: You bastard!

Zabuza: Consider yourself lucky there samurai. I didn't think any of these upstart ninjas would have the courage to come to your aid so I was only cautious on your girlfriend here.......*Holds blade higher*.............I won't make the same mistake twice, you're all dead meat.

Y/N: Sorry Momo but I am not done with you! If you want to have a go at anyone else, You'll have to finish where we left off................With that said, shall we dance?!

Zabuza: The moment your girlfriend interrupted our duel, you had already lost. You don't deserve another one on one with me. In fact you should feel honoured that I even gave a pathetic samurai like you one in the first place. *Laughs* Still, even before that interruption, that was an abysmal display by you.

Y/N: A wrong that I intend to right!

Determined to avenge his earlier defeat, Y/N decides to withdraw his dragon coiled nichirin and grips Kurikara with both hands.
