"You're joking right?", Jon nearly screamed. I glare at him. "You're joking right?", he repeats now, whispering. I shake my head while looking if students still staring at us. "Oh my god, Nicolas fucking Grace really asked you to be his girlfriend."
"Fake Girlfriend", I point out a little annoyed. We're walking through the school hallway on our way to the cafeteria, so I thought it's a good time to mention the whole thing. He shakes his head, "that doesn't matter, what matters is that of all people he chose you, I mean come on, you're gonna meet his parents."
"It's no big deal", I shrug. "It is a big deal Isa", he replied as we reach the cafeteria and sit down on an empty table, "you'll finally see something different than the four walls of your bedroom plus you'll meet new people. Don't get me wrong I love you but let's be honest I'm the only friend you have."
"Oh, and you have other friends yeah?"
"This is not about me", it's his time to shrug now. I scoff but as I open my mouth to say something else, I see a tall figure appear behind my best friend.
"May I talk to you for a second?" I don't have to look up to see to which person this voice belongs. I clear my throat before saying, "sure." I keep my eyes on Jon who grins at me.
"Alone."
"Yeah right", I say while packing my things. I shoot one last look at Jonathan before following Nicolas out to the hallway. We reach a corner where he suddenly stops. "I assume you told Walker?", he says while leaning against one locker behind us.
"Yes, I told Jonathan", I replay, saying his name on purpose, "didn't realize I'm not supposed to since you also told all of your friends."
If looks could kill I'd be dead. "If anyone else finds out about this", he makes a gesture with his hands between us, "I'll make sure life is going to be heavy on you."
"Is this a threat, Grace?", I ask, watching him studying me, probably wondering what's going on inside my head. He takes a step towards me, leaning to my ear. "Just reminding you to watch your mouth Johnson, that's all", he whispers.
The stepped back again and there's a moment of silence before I open my mouth to ask a question which has been on my mind for a while now., "so, how is this going to work?"
"It's quite simple, we pretend to be a couple which means we walk each other so our classes, holding hands, the normal stuff. I'm going to inform you when you have to come over", he answers simply.
"Come over. Like coming to your house and meeting your family?", I ask hesitantly. Nicolas nods, "exactly". With one last look on the clock, I realize it's time for me to go, since my next class is in five minutes. I say a quick goodbye to him, before heading to my final class.
