with each step paige took towards our table, my heartbeat fastened. when she reached our table, i swallowed the lump in my throat and shot a quick glance at the brunette i was on this date with. she looked relaxed.

kk quickly jogged towards us once she registered what the blonde was about to do.

"hi, zey. who's your friend, i've never seen her." paige said in a friendly manner, but it didn't take a high iq to know she was as sarcastic as one could get.

"i'm julie." julie said with a small yet genuine smile, it was that exact moment when i realized julie was too mature to entertain paige's jealousy.

"and we are on a date, so if you could excuse us..." julie added.

"yes, let's go girl boo." kk said with an awkward laugh, she waived us bye and dragged paige out of the restaurant.

"sorry about whatever that was." i awkwardly said once kk and paige were out of sight.

"nah, don't worry about it, shit happens." julie said with a warm smile, easing my nerves.

while julie tried to keep the conversation moving, all my mind could focus on was paige bueckers. yes, thinking about her while being on a date with julie was horrible but i couldn't control my thoughts.

i tried my best to focus on julie and once our dinner was over i went back home. nat spammed my phone upon stalking my location and seeing i was back home "so early".

despite my unhappiness about talking about what happened at the restaurant, i told nat everything. she was shocked but not surprised but most of all, she was bummed as she thought paige ruined my date with julie.

after hearing her rant for a while she hung up the phone and all i could think of was why paige would be jealous and act that way when she didn't have a right to do so.

i was drowning in my thoughts when i suddenly saw a notification pop up on my phone from imessages.

paige: hey can we please talk?
