Sunshine
Songs ; Moonlight/Checklist
You weren't one to seek help.
But when you showed up on Shishitoren territory demanding to see their leader, Tomiyama Choji, as tears streamed down your cheeks, Togame knew things were about to go down.
As soon as Choji was in sight, you launched yourself at him and held him tight against you, seeking his sunshine-like warmth.
Understanding the depth of the situation, Choji gently asked you to wait for him a few seconds as he spoke with Togame about taking over for a little while.
When everything was solved, he rushed back to you, his hand wrapping around yours as he dragged you elsewhere to talk.
"What happened ?" He softly asked, taking off his jacket and passing it over your shoulders in a swift movement.
You hiccuped slightly, the words refusing to leave your lips.
Choji simply sighed worriedly, before ruffling his own hair, trying to think of something to cheer you up.
"Let's just go get ice cream. When you're ready, we'll talk. Sounds good ?" He gave you a small yet reassuring smile, and you simply nodded.
He led you carefully down the streets and never let go of your hand even once during the whole trip to the merchant. Not that you minded : you needed to feel his presence, to be sure that he was here to pick up your broken pieces.
The sun was starting to set down and so, as Choji saw the crowd that was amassing in front of the both of you, his fingers slipped against yours, bringing your hands ever closer by intertwining them and squeezing tight.
As he guided you through the horde of people, you stared at his back, that looked strangely big tonight. Perhaps because you saw how reliable he was when it came to shouldering everyone's burdens. Including yours.
You were so focused on your thoughts that you hadn't noticed you were standing in front of the ice cream merchant who was waiting for your order.
A hand wove in front of your face, bringing you back to the harsh reality.
"(Name) ? Hey, which flavours do you want ?" Choji asked, worry reflecting out of the depths of his pupils.
Seeing your dejected look, he understood you didn't feel like it and squeezed your hand once again in a comforting manner as he excused himself to the merchant.
Handing you his own ice cream, he gestured toward a bridge with cold stone railings you usually sat on whenever you hung out with him.
You both sat down, the distance between the two of you barely existing.
"(Name). What's going on ? I was planning on letting you take your time to talk, but you look so unhappy and I can't stand to be this powerless when you're sad. But I can't help you if you won't tell me. So please. Say something."
Tugging a little on the jacket that hung over your shoulders, you gave the ice cream a lick before speaking up.
"I'm just tired." You mumbled, a stray tear rolling down your cheek and falling onto your lap.
"Is this about (crush name) ? Did it go badly ?" He asked, looking down at his shoes as he dangled his legs into the emptiness that separated you from the river flowing under the bridge.
"You talk too much... please just hold me." You responded, looking at the young man sitting by your side.
"Oh so you're ordering me around now huh ? Gotten rather cocky haven't we ?"
