A sense of pity? For Dave? Unlikely. Dave got what he deserved and he knew it. His friends may have turned their backs on him, but they were weak, just like him. The D'Amico family was bad news, but they were powerful and rich. The thought of being connected to them was tempting, at least to some people. Mia may think that I felt pity for Dave, but I knew that it was just a moment of weakness on my part. I would never admit it, and I would never let it happen again.

Even though I felt a pang of sympathy for Dave, I quickly buried it. Mia couldn't know. She couldn't think I was wavering in my hatred for him, not after everything he'd done. Dave got Mia jumped in middle school, and that was unforgivable. If I started to show any care for him, Mia might feel betrayed. It would be like turning on Jesus for Satan.

Mia returns to work behind the counter, while I continue reading the Moon Knight comic. Suddenly, I feel a tap on my shoulder. Startled, I look up to see Chris D'Amico standing there, a charismatic smile on his face.

"Hey there," Chris said with a smooth tone. "Sorry to disturb your reading, but I couldn't help but notice you checking out my car earlier." As his piercing gaze locked with mine, I was stunned by his confident demeanor and charm.

But also embarrassed by getting caught, I attempt to maintain my composure. "Yeah, um, it's quite the car," I manage to say, trying to hide my nervousness. Chris chuckles, clearly enjoying the attention. "Ah, so you have an appreciation for the finer things in life," he replies, the corners of his lips turning up into a smirk.

"I couldn't help but notice your choice of reading material," he mentions, glancing at the Moon Knight comic in my hand. "Moon Knight, huh? Not a common choice, especially for someone as radiant as yourself."

Flattered by his compliment, I feel a rush of warmth wash over me. "Well, I appreciate the kind words," I reply.

"You know, there's more to me than just a flashy car and a charming smile," he teases. "You should stick around and find out."

Chris has an undeniable air of danger, but the thrill it brings makes the moment even more irresistible. "Alright," I find myself saying, the words escaping my lips almost involuntarily. "What other secrets do you have to share?"

"Chris, your father called." The bodyguard said and Chris legit growled before writing down his number. "I guess this is goodbye for now don't forget to call me."

I nod and wave him goodbye then I see two thieves in front of Dave and Todd.

"I'll be right back." Chris drives off and I head out just in time to see the thugs about to run off. "hey!!!!" They stopped looking at me. Dave and Todd gave me a look of panic.

"If it ain't the pussy patrol thugs who are lazy ass bitches." Dave and Todd back away as I walk towards them. The white one pulled out a knife so I went for some bricks. "I can pop them things too so what's up?!"

Before they saw it coming or even took me as a girl serious I started throwing it not missing. "Gave them back their shit pussy ass bitches!!!" They dropped it and ran.

"Thanks, Britney that was badass like so badass." I hum in response nonchalantly and picked up their things. "Now get y'all mayo asses on home fast." I snap my fingers before going back to the store. I look back at them only to see Dave looking at me.

Maybe he's growing on me a little but I still won't forget the incident.

"I'm glad you're letting the past go." Mia smiles widely and I chuckle. "Girl I'm just helping the helpless."

"Helping the helpless, huh? You're a saint, Britney," Mia replies, a sly smile playing on her lips. "But let's be real, you just wanted to throw some bricks and feel like a badass."
