In high school, Haerin and Hyunjin were once close friends, bonded by their shared passion for dance and creativity. They often teamed up for school performances and competitions, pushing each other to be better. However, during their junior year, a significant event caused a deep rift between them.
Both Hyunjin and Haerin were competing for a coveted solo performance spot in the annual school talent show. As the competition grew fierce, rumors began circulating that Hyunjin was sabotaging Haerin's chances by spreading false information about them to the judges. On the other hand, Hyunjin heard that Haerin had been badmouthing him to their dance peers, accusing him of being arrogant and selfish.
In reality, neither Hyunjin nor Haerin was responsible for these malicious rumors; a jealous third party was envious of their talents and friendship and wanted to see them torn apart. Misunderstandings and hurt feelings led to a heated confrontation just before the final auditions, where harsh words were exchanged, leaving both feeling betrayed and angry. This incident shattered their trust and friendship, causing them to drift apart and carry lingering resentment into their college years.
