(I had to make this into a book because it was getting long. I apologize.)
Kim Seokjin was a 30 year old office worker who had no real ambitions except to spend time with his friends. And he was perfectly fine with it.
His mother, not so much. She constantly tried to fix him up with someone. Whether they were her friend's sons or strangers she met while out and about.
He was used to her meddling and didn't mind going along with her whims since he rarely connected with anyone she introduced him to. He loves his mother and he mostly does it to keep her happy.
He is driving to his parents annual Christmas party. Still feeling a bit hungover from the party he went to last night. But he knew he would never hear the end of it if he didn't show up. His mother would bring it up at every chance she had.
When he arrives at his parents house, his mother welcomes him inside. She takes his overnight bag from his hands and places it in the hallway closet.
She then pulls him towards the stairs and says, "Go get freshened up and hurry back down. Everyone's been asking for you."
Jin nods and was about to walk upstairs when she suddenly stops him. "I laid out something festive for you to wear on your bed. Change into it as well."
"Eomma, what's wrong with what I'm wearing?" He replies.
"The Kim's from down the street are here with their son Taehyung. He's dressed just as festive."
When he looks confused she asks, "You remember Taehyung don't you? You used to run around naked in his paddling pool when you were 4. He's just returned from London after his bitter divorce from his wife. Dreadful woman."
"Ughh.. no eomma. I don't remember." He looks around, hoping no one heard her.
"Well, nevermind that. Go do as I asked. Go on now!" She then pushes him up the stairs and returns to the party.
When Jin goes to his childhood bedroom he finds a bulky red sweater with fluffy knitted Santas all over it.
"Good lord. How does she expect anyone to be attracted to anyone wearing this?" He sighs exasperatedly.
He then goes to freshen up and returns to change his sweater. As he slips it on, he goes to stand in front of his mirror and frowns. "Ughhh.. it's hideous. Oh well, at least it will repel everyone and maybe I can get some sleep sooner."
He walks downstairs and enters the large parlor room where everyone is mingling. As soon as he enters, he hears a familiar but dreaded voice.
"There's the handsome prince I've been looking for. How's life? Still no boyfriend I hear." He then hands Jin a glass filled with wine.
Mr. Lee.. one of his father's longtime friends who is always a little too handsy and flirtatious. Mostly harmless.
"No.. no boyfriend. I'm not looking for one either. Thanks Mr. Lee for always being interested in my life."
