I just stay still. The words process in my mind before I can finally respond, "Ah- no problem! I did what I thought best". My mouth forms a smile as I finish my sentence. Seriously, I couldn't stand Damian rattling on about his need for power over everyone. The only being I would ever let control me is our goddess. Oh, I could listen to her order me around everyda-
"Still, thank you! Also, I come bearing gifts!"- Elera's voice interrupts my thoughts. One of my eyebrows raises in surprise and curiosity.
"Oh? You didn't need to, really!"- I mean.. I say that, but if you want to that bad...
"Nonsense! Here," she hands me a basket with bread and a selection of jewellery, "now, I have to go. I wish you well in life, Azrael."
I hold the basket in my hands as she leaves. Calling out a farewell, I close the door. I will definitely be placing these beautifully woven beads at my goddess's altar tomorrow, but for now I will simply write poems of her grace and charm.

I'm so sorry for how long this shortass chapter took, with it having barely any actual s t u f f in it! I just seriously needed to get a chapter out/ wrap up the whole interaction with Elera lmfao
like always, I shall begin construction on the next chapter as soon as I publish this 💪🤓
idk what a good update schedule would be as I personally don't read ongoing books and I originally meant to write the whole story and THEN publish it just so people would have a complete story without having to wait 😭
buuut it would take way too long lmfao + it would be kinda pointless if nobody ended up enjoying it-
just please be patient with me because I have homework and exams and shit (I just started up swimming again and I do piano twice a week for some examples lol)
after this chapter, they will be quite a bit longer-- although that means they will take longer to get out!
