Chapter 2

Since I didn't know how to take care of a cat, I invited Chifuyu over to help me learn the basics. When it got late we exchanged numbers and he went back home leaving me and Dusty to bond. I scooped Dusty into my arms and brought her over to the couch, I sighed and leaned back while looking out the window. It was getting dark outside, I wonder what Nii-san is doing.. I hope he's okay.

The rest of the night was spent bonding with Dusty in my bedroom until we fell asleep together on my bed.

Two days later.
July 7th 2005

I was woken up by a loud slam of the front door. It was probably my brother leaving for school.. But why this early? Ignoring all the questions I had, I got up and started to get ready for school. I did my morning routine and put on my uniform, it was a white dress shirt paired with a navy blue blazer, a lighter navy blue skirt that went below my knees, and a red tie. Though the dress shirt was a bit wrinkled since I didn't take it out of the drier ahead of time...

I finally got out of my bedroom and headed downstairs where I put on my white socks and slipped on my gray sneakers. Before I headed out, I made sure Dusty had enough food and water while I was away. After making sure everything was okay I headed out the front door. as soon as I opened the door I was greeted with my best friend Hina! Right, we were supposed to walk to school together.

"Hey n/n!*" Hina says with a smile.
"Is Takemitchi here?" She asks trying to look inside the house for any trace of my brother.

"Oh he already left the house way earlier than me for some reason.." I reply

"Meow.."

I turn around to find Dusty gently grabbing my ankle with her paws as if asking me to stay.

"Awwe, who's this?" Hine asks crouching to pet Dusty. But instead of the angel she is with me, she hisses and almost scratches her.
"Wow uhm, she's a feisty one.." she says holding her hand that was almost scratched.

"Huh, she wasn't like this with me or Chifuyu.." I say to myself while curiously staring at the little kitten.

"Chifuyu? Who's that?" Hina asks wth a goofy grin.

"He's the one who gave me Dusty" I reply unbothered.
"We should really get going, I dont want to be late!" I say as I give Dusty a couple more pets.

At school

Ugh finally third periods over! I can't stand listening to teachers who just talk NON STOP, do they ever get tired? We don't even get to do anything! Speaking of people who don't do anything, where's my brother? I haven't seen him at school at all.. Has he been skipping again?!

I walking around looking for my brother but I meet Hina instead.

"Hey Hina! Have you seen my brother around? You two have similar schedules right?" I ask. I'm starting to get worried.

"Umm" Hina put a finger on her chin thinking.
"No.. I haven't seen Takemitchi at all, why is he okay?" She asks

"I havent seen either, I'm a bit worried. You know all the fights he gets in right?" I say worriedly.

"Yeah.." She replies looking down. I glance around one last time before I head for the front doors of the school.
"Hey n/n! Where are you going? School isn't over yet!" Hina calls after me.

"Don't worry, I'll be back." I reply running out the doors.

I looked all around the school to find any trace of my brother, but found nothing. My worry started to grow as I pulled out my flip phone to dile the numbers of his friends, I first called Takuya since they were the closest, as I was waiting for him to respond I heard two people speed walking towards where I was standing.
