Chapter 8, My Shy Seatmate
Walk Outside
The announcement for the two selected auditionees were a few days away. You couldn't take Sunghoon's performance out of your mind. His voice was so soft and just perfect, like the perfect melody you want to hear after a long rough day.
"Handsome and talented" Rhea nodded feeling impressed by Sunghoon's audition yesterday. As her arm was interlocked with yours.
"I wish I could sing like that, If I could, I'd never shut up" Raylee sipped on her juice box glancing down the hallways to check if anyone had entered. But it was just a bunch of stacked lockers.
"You still never do" You chuckled teasingly as Raylee just playfully rolled her eyes while enjoying her drink.
"I'm sure he'll get chosen, I mean, the band does need a singer." Rhea commented as her hair twirled around her index finger.
"But Jay's already the main singer." Raylee replied though she wasn't denying Sunghoon's great vocals.
"Yeah but that way he can focus on being a guitarist" You agreed with Rhea.
"True" Raylee sighed. "Either way I'm sure they'll choose Sunghoon as one.
That was when an idea popped up in your head. "Hey Ray, you're friends with Jay right?"
"I mean I guess, he's just in my maths class. I'm too nervous to talk to him" Raylee responded grinning with a bit of embarrassment as she bit the end of her straw.
"He's so nice, he won't bite if you talk to him, besides, he recognised you yesterday." Rhea grinned to knowing how shy Raylee was when it came to speaking to people, especially Jay.
"Well... Could you put a good word for Sunghoon in?" You requested innocently with big eyes pleadingly, hoping Raylee would agree.
"Good word? You mean suggesting to choose Sunghoon?" Raylee raised and eyebrow as she sucked on her straw for the final time and tossing it into the bin beside her.
You nodded happily that she understood what you meant since you were shy to ask for the second time.
"I'm sure they'll choose him." Raylee really didn't want to ask Jay, since she was shy to talk to him.
"Pleaseeeee, Just incase." You pleaded putting your hands together.
Raylee sighed closing her eyes for a brief moment. "Fine, I'll try."
You smiled excitedly with a little jump.
---
"I'm going out mum!" You called as you tugged on the back of your sneakers with your index finger, pulling it up your heel.
"Come back soon!" You heard the faint yell of your mother from the kitchen as you left through the front door, and shutting it behind you.
You dug into one pocket as you pulled out your airpods and turned on some nice music.
You stuffed your hands in your pocket as you walked down your street heading to the nearby park.
The street was peaceful with nobody around and a soft breeze playing with the strands of your hair.
You felt so relaxed as you took a deep sign walking down the street only hearing your music and the sound of your shoes on the ground.
As you walked on. You got closer to the park where you could hear the faint laughs and screams of little kids and barking of dogs.
You crossed the road stepping onto the footpath of the park. The park entrance, the familiar scent of freshly cut grass and blooming flowers greeting you. You loved this part of your routine, the tranquility of the park always brought a sense of calm to your otherwise busy life.
As the grass shuffled underneath your feet as you cut through the park to get onto the right path.
As you walked down the familiar path with your head bopping subtly to the beats in your airpods.
You glanced around and couldn't help but start dancing a little to your favourite artist.
You were spinning around enjoying your music when you didn't notice someone heading right for you.
