Chapter 6, My Shy Seatmate
First Audition
Sometime passed and few more groups of people entered taking their seats scattared around the place.
Only one blonde girl sat a few seats away from you in your row.
Soon someone's footsteps were heard coming onto stage. Everyone watched in curiousity when Jay had stepped onto stage walking to the microphone that had been set up in the front-middle of the stage.
"Hello Everyone" His deep attractive voice filled the auditorium which snapped Raylee out of her thoughts and immediately fell on Jay who looked gorgeous on stage with his brown hair perfectly parted and that sexy undercut which made it look like the hairstyle was made just for him.
"Oh my god Jay!" Raylee had subconsciously yelled turning a few heads as everyone heard.
Raylee instantly covered her mouth feeling embarrassed for yelling that out so loud as you and Rhea burst into laughs not even being able to hold them back for more than 5 seconds. Raylee sunk into her seat feeling so embarrassed.
Jay faintly heard it, chuckling softly as he turned his face away from the microphone feeling a little shy from his name being called out like that.
"Thanks for coming Raylee" He chuckled and even a few laughs were heard from back stage.
"Yeah so welcome everyone to our band auditions, thank you everyone who auditioned, Wish you the best of luck, only two of you will be chosen, thank you." Jay made his speech short as he stepped off stage.
Raylee was still flustered from being heard like that as you and Rhea calmed your laughs but couldn't help snickering here and then.
"He recognised you~" You teased Raylee as she was red from being embarrassed like that.
A short woman with a blonde straight hair and bright red glasses in a suit who everyone recognised as Mrs Kang, the head drama teacher, stepped onto the stage going to the microphone.
"Thank you Jay, welcome everyone to our school band auditions, only two will be selected so good luck" Mrs Kang smiled as her head twisted from backstage to the audience constantly. "Our students will give a brief introduction of themselves and show us a bit of their talent."
"Can we please have the first student on stage." Mrs Kang flashed one last smile of good luck and walked off stage as the sound of her heels against the wood stage slowly faded.
Faint whispers were heard between the audience as everyone waited in anticipation for the first auditionee to enter the stage.
Soon everyone instantly hushed when footsteps walked onto stage. Your heart beat raised as you thought it may be Sunghoon, even leaning forward in your seat.
The person walked to the microphone. Unfortunetly it wasn't Sunghoon. It was another guy who was wearing a senior jacket which meant he was a year older than the three of you.
His curly black hair stood up on his head like a fluffy pillow. His honey skin shining with the dim lights that were present as he took the microphone.
"Hello everyone my name is Minjae, I'm in my final year of highschool and I'm auditioning to be the drumer position." Minjae made a short introduction and stepped back from the microphone to the drum set taking a seat and pikcing up the sticks.
Everyone patiently waited as some upbeat music started playing as Minjae nodded his head to the beat.
Rhea also subsconciously nodded to the beat as Raylee giggled at Rhea joining in as you watched the two playfully dance their heads.
Everyone's attentioned was turned back to Minjae the second the drums were heard.
He was impressively good as everyone was cheering him on. After about 2 minutes he had finished and everyone clapped and a few people were heard cheering his name in matching senior jackets as you assumed they may be his friends.
He stepped off stage flashing a few charming smiles of appreciation as Mrs Kang stepped back on stage.
"Well done Minjae, that was a very impressive performance. Let's welcome the next student onto the stage."
Your mind went back to Sunghoon, hoping he was up next.
