-Eli's POV-
After the little...... Incident a few days ago, I've kept Jack away from Moon. Heck, I won't even look in Jack's direction now! What he did to her... It's cemented in my mind, burnt into my soul. On the up side, Moon has become much closer towards me, and I'm even more protective over her. One day, I really should meet her family. Speaking of family, I could introduce her to Diamond Dogs... Crud, I just remembered... Father... I'll ignore him, he probably won't care anyway. I see Moon outside the cave.
"Hey, Princess." I smile, kissing her cheek.
"Hey, Eli." She replies, hugging me. I hug back.
"Say, Moon, is it okay if I introduce you to the main leaders around here. They're called Diamond Dogs!" I ask her.
"Anything you want, Eli." She says, hugging me once more. I blush, and she notices. This makes her giggle. "Hehe, you're so cute when you blush, Eli!" This makes me blush even more.
"You're just plain adorable, Princess..." I whisper in her ear. She blushes and I chuckle. "So you ready to go see Diamond Dogs?"
"I'm ready..."
I pick her up, cradling her in my arms. Her arms are wrapped around my neck, her head buried in my chest. I walk down to the Mother Base, looking around at the machinery.
"E-Eli... I'm scared..."
"It okay, Moon." I kiss her forehead. Just then, I hear voices.
"Boss, that kid's here again!"
"I don't care Ocelot, he can go die!"
"Boss, that's harsh!"
"Quiet, Kaz!"
"You called, Sir?"
"Ugh... Quiet, the only sane person here."
I chuckle at the conversation. I know all the people here. Quiet, the kindest of them all. Kaz, the coolest guy with the best shades. Ocelot, who reminds me of a cowboy. And last, Big Boss...... My father... And I'm his clone son. I hear a little yawn.
"Eli... I'm really tired... Can we go back?" It was Moon.
"Of course, Princess." I'm about to turn around when I hear a voice.
"Going somewhere, kiddo?" Kaz...... Oh great. I will have him murdered when I'm older, but as long as I keep the shades!
"Hey Kaz..."
"Who's the girl? Your babe?" He laughs. My face goes red with embarrassment.
"Y-yeah......"
"She's adorable! Nice to meet ya, girl. I'm Kazuhira McDonell Benedict Miller, but you can call me Kaz." She shook his hand. I smiled.
"H-hello, Mr Miller..." She said, slightly embarrassed. Kaz smiled at her, chuckling.
"She's a keeper, Eli! Oh, and make sure she stays away from Jack! Has she seen Jack yet?"
Now all the memories came flooding back, so thanks Miller...
"I-I've seen Jack... I don't like him..." She told him.
Miller stroked her hair.
"He's only a child soldier because the Boss wanted someone to oppose Eli." I growled. "Obviously, you're MUCH cooler, Eli." Miller added. This made me smirk. Take that, Jack! Miller notices how happy I am and chuckles once more.
"Well, you two better be off before the Boss comes out here." Miller warns us.
"Okay, Miller." I reply.
Just then, a dog bounds up to us. It's Diamond Dog, aka DD, the wolf that they own. Moon got out of my arms and started stroking the wolf.
"Awww, who's a good doggie? Yes, you're a good doggie!" She seemed to love him. Unfortunately, DD started barking and then I heard it: another voice, the main voice... Father!
"Kaz! What's going on?" He ran towards us, carrying a PSG1 (type of rifle). "THAT KID!!! Kaz, shoot him!" DD started getting restless and angry, barking and growling all the time. Moon got scared and ran up to me, tears streaming down her delicate face.
"Eli!!! I wanna go!!!!" She shouted. I saw Father loading his gun, aiming at me and Moon. There was nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.
"BOSS! Don't shoot!!!" Kaz... He was trying to save us... Father turned around.
"Why Kaz? Tell me why! WHY?!" He pointed the gun at Kaz.
"T-that girl... She's not a child soldier and she doesn't belong here..." Kaz replied, surrendering against the gun. Father growled.
"STOP LYING KAZ!!! I thought I could trust you!" The gun was aimed at Kaz's chest. I honestly felt a little bad for the guy. I shouted back in Kaz's defence.
"SHE MOVED HERE, SO DON'T TOUCH HER!" I pulled out my knife.
Father ignored me, which didn't surprise me one bit!
"Okay Kaz, we need to take her to her parents. Could you do that?"
Miller had relaxed now.
"Yes Boss. C'mon kid, let's go! Oh, and I'll take Eli back to his cave on the way back!"
"Hmph, might as well."
I turned to face Father.
"This isn't the last you'll see of me... Father..." I said.
"Beat it, Kid! You don't belong here!" He replied.
"Eli, come on, let's go!" Kaz shouted. He was carrying Moon as Father had told him to. I turned away, running up to KAZ. But maybe Father is right... I don't belong here...
