"Are we going to live in the same bedroom?" Eva asked with hesitation as her voice trembled My vulnerability lay bare

"Yes, staying close to us, will help you recover early, our wolves will heal you," Alex said, his hand brushing her head with love. His touch always surprised her, and Ian placed her on the bed carefully.

Eva leaned back against the headboard, arms crossed, trying her best to look calm, though her mind was spinning.

Werewolves? Really? These two actually think I'm some helpless damsel just waiting for my big, bad alphas to swoop in and save me. Marked? Ha! Do I look like a wolf-girl to them? How long do they think they can keep me here? They're going to find out just how fast I can run once I'm back on my feet.

Her glare could've cut through steel as Alex strutted over, holding up a red, barely there dress. "This will look perfect on you," she purred, her green eyes flashing with a confidence that bordered on arrogance.

Eva's arms tightened across her chest as she stared at the dress in disbelief. It was practically nothing—more like a second skin than an actual outfit. "You seriously expect me to wear that? It's basically lingerie," she sputtered, trying to ignore the sudden quickening of her pulse. Yes, it was sexy, no denying that, but seriously—she wasn't some kind of femme fatale. Right?

Before she could argue more, Ian emerged from the bathroom, his hair still damp and looking like he just stepped out of a cologne ad. Of course, Eva thought bitterly. Another alpha strutting around like he owns the place. Perfect.

"You look tense, Eva," Ian teased, his voice low and playful as he leaned against the doorframe. His dark eyes met hers, a smug smirk pulling at his lips.

For the love of—stop looking at me like I'm your next meal. Eva swallowed, trying to keep her composure.

"Oh, nothing much," she said, turning to face them with a forced smile that barely reached her eyes. "Just wondering how long you two plan on keeping me here. You know I have an apartment, right? A place where I can wear what I want, eat what I want, and not have two oversized wolves breathing down my neck."

Ian's smirk only widened as he stepped closer, his alpha confidence radiating off him. "A prisoner? No, sweetheart. You're our mate. You belong with us now."

Mate? Seriously? Give me a break. "I didn't agree to any of this'mate' stuff," she shot back, but the words didn't sound as firm as she wanted them to, especially with Ian standing so close, his presence almost suffocating.

"We'll take care of you," Alex added smoothly, still leaning against the wall, the red dress hanging from her hand. "You're ours."

Ian stepped even closer, his voice softening, but not in a comforting way. "We've marked you, Eva. You can't live without us now. It's not just about the bond—it's about keeping you safe." He reached out, brushing a strand of hair behind her ear, his touch warmer than she wanted it to be. Damn it, why does his hand have to feel so good? Stay focused, Eva.

"You'll get weaker," Alex chimed in, his tone casual but laced with a hint of danger. He flipped a coin in the air, catching it with a sharp snap. "And when you're weak, bad things can happen. It's dangerous out there without us."

Eva raised an eyebrow, pretending to think it over. "Weaker? Like, what? I'll turn into a puddle if I don't stay here under your watchful eyes." She forced a laugh, but inside, her heart pounded. They were being absurd. I could outrun them. Maybe. Probably not. But still, I'm not staying here like a houseplant.
