Eva stepped into the sleek, sunlit halls of Exo Ltd., her heart pounding in her chest. It was her first day as an intern, and she couldn't let the nerves take over. In her crisp white blouse and pencil skirt, she tried to channel confidence, even as excitement and anxiety warred inside her. Her heels echoed softly as she walked, each step reminding her to stay focused.

At 20, Eva had just finished her second year of college, eager to land an internship with her best friend, Sela. After applying to Exo Ltd., a top company, they were thrilled to have been accepted into the accounting department. Today marked their first day as interns.

"Sela, it's time. Let's go," Eva said, a little tense.

"I'm ready!" Sela smiled, full of energy as usual.

They entered the office, scanning the room. Eva froze in place. Alex. He was standing near the windows, his eyes fixed on her, and it felt like time stood still. The intensity of his stare—possessive, longing—sent a shiver through her. She quickly looked away, pretending not to notice, and made her way to her desk, her heart racing.

"What's wrong? You look tense," Sela asked, concerned.

"The CEO... it's Alex," Eva whispered, trying to remain composed.

Sela's eyes widened. "Wait, Alex? As in your Alex? The Alex you dated?"

"Yeah, that's him."

Sela blinks in disbelief. "How is that even possible? He's, like, 24 now, right? And he's the CEO? That's insane!"

"Yeah, he's always been ambitious," Eva muttered.

Sela nudged her playfully. "Bet you regret breaking up with him now, huh?"

Eva sighed, her voice quieter. "It wasn't my choice. Things were... complicated. It's just awkward seeing him again like this."

Sela gave her a reassuring pat on the shoulder before getting to work, leaving Eva to sit in her swirling thoughts.

The hours dragged on, with Alex's presence heavy in the room. Every time she glanced up, she caught him looking at her, his gaze burning through her. It was suffocating. Needing to escape, Eva rushed to the restroom, splashing cold water on her face, trying to calm the nerves.

"Get it together," she whispered to herself. "He doesn't control you anymore."

She took a deep breath and stepped into the hallway. But as she headed back to her desk, a hand suddenly grabbed her wrist, pulling her into a nearby room. She gasped, stumbling as she came face-to-face with Alex, his eyes blazing with a mix of anger and longing.

"Why, Eva?" His voice was low, filled with frustration. "Why did you leave me like that? No explanation, no goodbye."

Her back pressed against the door, trapped between it and his towering frame. "Alex, it was years ago. We're over. I moved on."

"Moved on?" He scoffed, stepping closer, his breath warm against her skin. "You think it's that simple? I haven't forgotten. You just... left."

"I don't owe you anything," Eva said coldly, trying to push him away, but his grip tightened.

"It doesn't feel like the past to me," Alex muttered, his jaw tense.

Before she could react, his lips crashed onto hers, demanding and fierce. Eva tried to pull away, but he held her close, his kiss full of pent-up frustration. She struggled, but something stirred inside her—a deep, conflicting feeling she hated herself for.

"Stop, Alex," she managed to whisper, breathless.

But he didn't. His lips trailed down her neck, his hands pulling her even closer. It was overwhelming, and just as she was about to push him away, the door swung open.

Standing in the doorway was a man she didn't recognize, but his presence was undeniable. Tall, broad-shouldered, and with piercing blue eyes that mirrored Alex's—this had to be Ian, his cousin. His expression darkened as he took in the scene, his eyes narrowing.

"Alex," Ian said quietly, his voice tense.

Alex straightened but didn't let go of Eva. He met Ian's gaze, something unspoken passing between them.

"She's my mate," Alex said, a smug smile tugging at his lips.

Ian's eyes flared with shock. "She's my mate too."

The room seemed to freeze, the weight of Ian's words hitting Alex like a punch. "What?" Alex whispered, disbelief washing over him.

"She's my mate," Ian repeated, his voice tight with frustration.

The two cousins stared at each other, emotions swirling beneath the surface. Neither had expected this, and both struggled to process it.

Eva, still in shock, pushed away from Alex, breaking the tension. "No," she muttered, her voice shaking as she backed toward the door. "This is too much."

Without waiting for their response, she turned and bolted, her heels clicking loudly against the floor as she fled down the hallway, heart pounding in her chest.

Left behind, Alex and Ian stood in silence, their minds racing as they watched her disappear. Confusion, jealousy, and frustration clouded the air between them.

"I found her first," Alex murmured, his voice barely audible.

"It doesn't matter," Ian replied, his gaze still on the door. "She's mine too."

For a moment, neither spoke. Then Alex, breaking the tension, let out a slow breath and glanced at Ian. "Maybe we don't need to fight about this," he suggested, a smirk playing on his lips. "If it's you, I don't mind sharing."

Ian raised an eyebrow, surprised by the shift. Slowly, he exhaled, a hint of relief crossing his face as he nodded. Both men smiled, tension dissolving into a strange understanding.

They weren't sure what would happen next, but they knew one thing—this wasn't over.
