The Silence

I feel as though I have annoyed you all my life,
The screams, the pain, the tears,
Everything.
You've always scolded me to stay quiet.
You needed a break, so now I give,
Such a pain I was for you to take.
Years have past and I'm finally silent,
You begin to wonder where I am,
"I'm right here" I whisper,
You hardly notice.
You call out my name asking where I am,
I scream softly, "I'm right here"
But you still can't hear me.
You've asked for silence, so now I give,
But maybe, you've just never cared to listen.
