"you're a second year, right, dejun? what're you studying?"

"you can call me xiaojun. i'm in arki!"

"seriously? me too!"

kaixi and xiaojun had gotten into talking pretty much immediately after they had set off to her room. despite her earlier nervousness, the boy's kind and approachable demeanor warmed her up quickly.

he let out a gasp, looking at her excitedly. "really?! i knew it, you looked like you had the eye of one as soon as i saw you!"

she laughs, "not really, i was just thinking about how pretty this place was then."

"well, architecture is one of our expertise, after all. it only makes sense," he said, looking back in front of him. it was pretty hard to be enthusiastic about a conversation when you were carrying three bags of luggage.

kaixi hums to herself, "that makes you pretty impressive, doesn't it?"

xiaojun tilts his head in confusion, and she continues, "architecture's a pretty time demanding course, yet you're a member in these types of orgs?"

"oh," he laughs, "i'm the representative of the architecture course in the event council, so i'm technically an officer, not a member," he corrects.

"woah, what?"

"yep," he replies, "but it's really not that impressive."

she quickly shakes her head in disagreement, "dude, how is that not impressive? you're only a second year! i didn't know you could do that!"

the boy lets out a laugh at her reaction. "dude?" he repeats in the same tone.

kaixi startles and apologizes, her face flushing in embarrassment. xiaojun immediately assures her, "oh, no, it's fine! you're really friendly, aren't you?"

kaixi flusters for a bit, but she moves on before the moment could linger any longer.

"i just thought that if i were getting into arki i'd have to sacrifice the idea of getting into an org," the girl admits.

they walk into an elevator as xiaojun thinks, "that's not true, so long as you - hold on, what floor are you on again?"

"um, i'm room 1-406."

"press that fourth floor button for me then. as i was saying, so long as you manage your time, it's pretty... well, manageable."

kaixi sighs. knowing her own habits of cramming, she probably wouldn't do well in an org even if she wanted to. xiaojun, as if being able to read her mind, offers her a sympathetic look.

then, an idea very obviously pops in his head as the doors open. "you know, why don't you just give it a try for now?" he offers instead as they move to the end of the hall.

"huh?"

"join the event committee as a member for now, so that you can get a feel for it while the workload's still light," he suggests.

as they stop in front of what she assumes to be her door, xiaojun continues, "if you think you can do it, you stay, but if you find it to be too much, then you can leave while still being able to say you got the experience!"

he puts down the bags he was holding by the entrance in order to open her door. inside, she's greeted by the same dorm room she saw on the website, yet in the same way the entrance did, it looked way more elegant in person.

while kaixi stood in awe, xiaojun began bringing in the luggage left outside into the room.

"your keys are there on the hook on the door. welcome to your place!"

she smiles, "thank you for helping me with my stuff."

"if you really want to thank me, you should also thank the event council. so think about that offer, okay?" he says with a smile back.

"i will, but it'll probably be a struggle to try and find you if i wanted to talk about it more..."

xiaojun murmurs in agreement, fishing his phone out of his back pocket.

"are you on the vision app yet? here's my user. really think about it, alright?"

 really think about it, alright?"
