Truth and Love

Luz expected there to be questions, but she didn't expect this. Given what happened at the USJ facility the school gave everyone the day off while they assessed their safety protocols. Luz of course managed to heal fairly quickly between Recovery Girl and her own powers. As exhausting as it was to use them, she always found healing herself took roughly half the effort as healing someone else did. As a result she was cleared to leave just before noon the next day, but that didn't mean she was free.

As a matter of fact, Luz found that the nurses office was being guarded by four of her classmates. Izuku and Ochaco had been expected, but Mina and Kirishima were a surprise. For a moment, Luz considered trying to slip away unseen, but Lucia wouldn't allow it, and Luz couldn't help feeling she owed them at least a chance to ask their questions. In the end she surrendered to them.

Luz was guided to the 1-A classroom, where she found the rest of her class waiting with her trio of friends talking and getting to know each other. As they walked by the desk, Luz noticed Aizawa sleeping in his sleeping bag like usual, but on closer inspection she knew he was faking. Whether by order of the principle or his own curiosity he was here to get answers as well.

Before they got started Willow and Boscha stood on each side of Luz as they took turns speaking, "So, we should start with official introductions. I'm Willow Park, class 1-B, and I've been this trouble maker's best friend for... has it been seven years yet? Anyway, I might be able to answer some things, but even I didn't learn about certain things until near the end of middle school."

"I'm Boscha Triplet, class 1-H, and I'm here to spill secrets." Luz and Willow gave Boscha an angry look and she sweat dropped. "But there's one more person we should introduce you too. For some context, Luz has a sister and they would be twins regardless, but given their situation they can't help but look the same. Lucia... it's time."

Everyone looked around, but they all blinked as they saw one of Luz's eyes turn scarlet and Luz waved, "This isn't super awkward at all, Bosh. Lucia Clawthorn, nice to meet'cha. So ya, um, Luz and I kind of share her body. The light quirk she's been showing off is hers. I'm more of a darkness girl myself, and yes that is how we have two quirks. Questions?"

Tsu tilted her head, "So how do we tell the difference between you, besides the slightly different voice?"

Luz sighed, "My eyes are blue, and Cia's are red. We can both hear anything you say to us regardless of who's currently in control... unless one of us decides to nap, which is absolutely as odd as it sounds... Cia snores." "Also I'm a lot more fun than this stick in the mud. I love a good fight."

"So... you're a vigilante?" Asked Ida stiffly.

They saw Luz's other eye turn red and a chair made of shadows formed beneath her that she slumped into before her eyes changed back to heterochromatic, "Since that has more to do with me than Lu, yes I was. The neighborhood we grew up in was... rough, and I like to fight as I said. Over time I moved from bullies to delinquents and then actual scum. I created Death Shadow to be a symbol of fear or a boogeyman, and it worked, but more specifically I needed a cover to help our Aunt on a case. I'm sure most of you have heard of her, Detective Lilith Clawthorne. Harpy and I made a deal. We avoided leaving bodies, and reported in when we had morons who might need to be interrogated. As long as we played along we were left alone to 'color outside the lines when necessary, and we occasionally got invited to provide extra muscle when the police needed it."

Momo paled, "So the rumors are true? You really have killed before?"

Luz sighed, "That's a hard question to answer. Not for me. Hell yes, I have and I don't regret any of them." That caused an audible gasp, but Luz groaned, "That's kind of the problem. I've never done it myself, but I was aware and didn't stop her. Does that make me just as guilty, I don't know, but since I never choose to take that step... I'd say I haven't, and only about one in five rumors are true. The other four were Harpy or people we helped fake their deaths so they could enter witness protection."
