The sun rose on Narnia, painting the castle walls a vibrant orange. Inside, a flurry of activity replaced the usual quiet. Servants scurried back and forth, polishing silverware, arranging flowers, and ensuring every detail was perfect for the long-awaited wedding. Yet, amidst the joyous anticipation, a current of nervous energy crackled through the air.

Lillian, adorned in a shimmering silk robe, sat before her vanity, her reflection a picture of nervous excitement. Lucy, ever the helpful friend, braided her hair, weaving wildflowers into the golden strands.

"Are you sure about this, Lillian?" Lucy asked softly, her voice barely a whisper.

Lillian glanced at her reflection, a flicker of doubt crossing her features. "Becoming Queen?" she echoed, her voice laced with apprehension.

Lucy squeezed her hand. "No, silly. About marrying Blaze. It seems like everything's happening so fast."

Lillian's smile returned, warm and genuine. "Fast, maybe," she admitted, "But every moment feels right. Blaze is my home, Lucy, even in this strange, magical land."

Suddenly, a knock interrupted them. The door creaked open to reveal Peter, his face etched with a mixture of determination and sadness. He held a small, ornately carved box in his hand.

"Lillian," he began, his voice gruff, "There's something you need to know."

Lillian's brow furrowed. "What is it, Peter?"

Peter stepped closer, his gaze flickering between Lillian and Lucy. "This," he said, holding out the box, "belonged to my mother."

Lillian cautiously took the box and opened it. Inside, nestled on velvet, lay a silver locket engraved with a familiar symbol - a blazing sun. A gasp escaped her lips.

"It's the same symbol Blaze wears," she whispered, her eyes wide with surprise.

Peter nodded. "He is your brother, Lillian. Your half-brother, to be precise."

A wave of emotions washed over Lillian – astonishment, confusion, and a newfound understanding. It explained their instant connection, the way their hearts seemed to beat in sync.

"But how?" she stammered.

Peter explained how their mother, Queen Priscilla, had fallen in love with a human before the Telmarine invasion. She had fled Narnia, carrying Blaze with her, hoping to protect him from the war.

The revelation hung heavy in the air. As Lucy absorbed the news, a flicker of understanding lit up her eyes. "No wonder you fit in so well, Lillian," she said softly.

Lillian felt a tear roll down her cheek. It was a bittersweet revelation, but it filled a void in her heart she hadn't even known existed. She looked at Peter, her eyes filled with gratitude.

"Thank you for telling me," she whispered.

Peter gave her a sad smile. "There's one more thing," he said. "This wedding...it signifies a new chapter for Narnia. And perhaps, it's time for a new kind of ruler."

He knelt before her, his eyes filled with a newfound resolve. "Lillian," he declared, his voice firm, "I hereby relinquish the High Throne of Narnia. You, with your courage, compassion, and love for this land, are more deserving to wear the crown."

Lillian's breath hitched. The weight of his words settled on her shoulders, heavier than she could have imagined. But before she could protest, Peter placed the ornately carved box, containing the Queen's signet ring, in her hand.

The news of Peter's abdication spread like wildfire through the castle. While some were surprised, others, like Edmund and Caspian, saw it as a natural progression. The wedding preparations, however, continued with renewed urgency.
