Winter's almost over
Peeking out from under wisps of frost
Green buds spring to life
Ferns start to uncurl
I tentatively reach my hand out to caress one of them
Green leafed beauty, damp from morning dew
It hesitantly brushes against me
The sweet scent of flowers starts off faint
then becomes an ever present lingering smell hanging in the springy air
Plants come to life
Blossoms bloom
Bird chirps fill the air
Squirrels scamper up trees, waving their bushy tails
Rabbits nibble on grass
It's breathtaking
What once was an icy blue and white winter wonderland
transforms into a vibrant forest blooming with life and color
What winter froze away rebounds in full force
Brittle brown trees become full of lush leaves
Dying flowers spread color across their limp petals
Skinny animals feed, filling their stomachs
Bunches of berries hang from bushes, gleaming in the light
I don't know how to say this, but...
I think I'm in love
