"We've so got this, Master!" the purple-haired girl cheered, pumping her fist in the air, her eyes squeezed shut in an excited grin. Karma, hands stuffed in his pockets, continued walking without a glance at his overly enthusiastic friend. He knew if he looked, her energy would make him blush.

"Yeah, I know," he replied, smirking. "I bet I'll place higher than you," he added, his tone dripping with confidence.

"Mhm! No doubt you'll beat me. You can beat me whenever you want!" (Y/N) beamed, wrapping her arms around his, pulling herself closer. Her chest pressed against his arm, unintentionally drawing concerned glances from those passing by.

"Idiot! Shut up, people will get the wrong idea!" he muttered through clenched teeth, his face turning red as he quickened his pace, dragging her along. Karma had gotten used to (Y/N)'s touchiness over time, but it still flustered him. She was always affectionate, though he suspected her quirk played a part in it. Being shy and with few friends, she relied heavily on physical contact with him—a habit he didn't really mind.

As they entered the exam hall, arms still linked, they almost looked like a couple. The curious glances from others only made Karma more flustered by the contact, while (Y/N) stayed happily glued to his side. When they found seats, she scooted extra close, once again pressing her 'large personality's' against his arm. No matter how often this happened, it always left Karma embarrassingly red.

"Oh no, we're not in the same battle zone, Master,"
(y/n) pouted after comparing her assigned paper with his, her disappointment clear.

"I guess I can't watch you eat dirt during the exam," Karma teased with a smirk, though he couldn't help feeling a little disappointed they wouldn't be together.

"Don't worry, Master! You'll still beat me!" she chirped, throwing her arms around his neck in a tight hug, unintentionally suffocating him again. The moment was broken when she noticed someone with glasses scolding a cute guy nearby.

"Aww, I feel bad for that cutie, Karma-sama," she muttered with a pout, resting her chin on his shoulder as she watched the interaction unfold. Karma said nothing, but a twinge of jealousy stirred in his chest.

"AND YOU!" The glasses-wearing guy suddenly pointed at (Y/N) and Karma, startling them both.

"Me?" (Y/N) blinked, confused.

"YES, YOU! PDA IS COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNNECESSARY IN AN EXAM SETTING!" the guy scolded, his face turning slightly red.

"Bleh, you're no fun," (Y/N) retorted, sticking her tongue out at him like a child. Karma chuckled under his breath at her antics. Before things could escalate, Present Mic intervened, diffusing the situation and continuing the explanation.

"I guess this is where we say goodbye," (Y/N) said sadly, wrapping Karma in another hug now that they had to part ways for the exam.

"We literally live together," Karma replied, almost facepalming at her overdramatic display.

"I'm gonna miss you," she added, completely ignoring his remark as she pulled away.

"Fine... I'll miss you too," he sighed, finally playing along with her theatrical goodbye. They exchanged one last wave before heading to their respective battle centers. To anyone watching, it definitely looked like they were dating.

Arriving at the gate of her exam zone, (Y/N) took a moment to take in her surroundings. The impressive mock buildings towered around her, capturing the attention of the other examinees. Among them, she noticed a guy with spiky blonde hair—the same one who had been sitting next to the guy that was getting scolded earlier.

'Hmmm, he's pretty handsome,' she thought. But as their eyes met and she gave a polite wave, he scoffed and looked away.

'Well, now he's really ugly,' she grumbled internally, quickly changing her opinion of him due to his rude behavior.

As the gates to the exam opened, everyone stood in awe, admiring the scale and detail of the fake city. But before anyone could fully take it in, the blonde guy from before blasted off, leaving everyone behind in the dust.

"He gets it! There are no countdowns for battles—go, go, go!" Present Mic yelled over the commotion. With that, the examinees snapped out of their daze and sprinted ahead.
