The peck on the lips from Gomez had Cada up half the night, her fingers didn't left her lips, her mind was going crazy to know he was the one force to love her by his mother and he wasn't the one who's cheeks she wiped from running tears.

Her memories were in shambles; the only thing that jogged her memory was his lips and cheeks; perhaps it was Gomez, but she did not feel it.

The sun had risen, and as Cada descended the stairs, she saw Charlotte standing in front of a recently painted picture.

Her expression was dejected, but as Cada got closer to Charlotte, she flashed a cheery smile.

"Who is that person?"

Cada asked. Charlotte's lips tightened as her smile vanished.

"Phoebe was the only human who was close to the volturis, like family."

"Was she? Was she someone I knew? Was I liked by her?

"I was told that she was like a mother figure to you, I should go Gomez and I are participating in a practice duel with the twins.

Cada was not taking her eyes off the painting when Charlotte changed the subject; she hated that she could not recall.

"Charlotte hold on."

Declared Cada.

"Tell me what happened with phoebe"

"Sycada, I am running late for practice. Let us talk another time, okay?"

The more Charlotte saw Cada's disappointment in her eyes as she spoke, the more she realized that she should not have to break the news to her.

Cada stormed back to her room, slammed the door, and sat in front of the mirror. She grabbed the hair straightener but decided not to use it, letting her hair fall naturally instead.

Her door was forced open and an elderly man carrying a book that appeared to be very old was seen through the reflection in the mirror.

"You are not my dad, are you?"

"No sorry, I'm a friend of your mother"

"Oh, I am just curious; nobody seems to be telling me anything."

Cada sighed as he said.

"Maybe this will help you remember; your mother gave it to you."

After saying so and setting the book down on the bed, Cada stood up to sit beside him and began to open what turned out to be a book made entirely of carved Latin words and images.

"Thank you, a book of spells. There ought to be a spell to restore my memory.

Cada proposed

Pitre grinned.

"You know, there are times when there is a reason why we forget certain things."

"A reason? What truly happened to me? I am tired of all these assumptions."

"To be honest, I do not want to know." I am sorry, but would you please leave?"

Pitre got up and left the room, Charlotte amd Gomez was outiside waiting for him.

Renesme was with Aro in the meantime; he brought her humans who desired immortality. Renesme devoured them with the ferocity of an untamed beast, her eyes wild, her mouth dripping with blood, and her dark, ravenous smile.

"Good Girl, little Cullen, we are predators; fearlessness and strength are our calling."

Renesme left the room, licking her lips as she went, feeling sorry for herself and overcome with guilt.
