You can't be a hero today

It felt like June was Christmas. Standing there with pale lips, Marco gave cada a sidelong glance.

The kids there had no interest in their bonfire party; they all stood far away, mumbling in a way that only vampires could understand.

"Aro gives little Cullen his regards."

Charlotte declared as she twirled her hair, which hung just below her shoulders.

With alerted eyes, Marco grasped Renesme's hands as the sheriff's car approached from behind.

"I hope it is okay if I bring some friends over."

"Charlotte, what did you do?"

Cada asked.

"Shhhhh, just wait and see."

Sheriff Charlie approached Charlotte with a critical look.

What is happening, Grandpa?

posed Renesme.

"Miss Riley and Marco, you ought to go and avoid them. If they are fortunate, the lawsuit will be dismissed.

He said this as Cada looked at Marco and then at Charlotte before walking away. Marco followed. Charlie took Renesme's hand and led her to his car, which also had Jasper and Charlotte in it.

Now that the kids' recording phones were back in their pockets, the mumbling and gossiping went on.

Sheriff Charlie dropped off Renesme and Jasper at home, where they were greeted by other sheriffs who were deep in conversation with Carlisle and Edward.

"I take it you are Renesme Cullen?"

With a modest smile, one of the sheriffs inquired.

"Yes"

Charlotte was grinning to herself as she left the Cullens' home, but as time passed, her home appeared. When the car door opens and she is lifted off the ground by a figure, her smile widens.

It was her parents' scent, her beloved parents.

In the meantime, Cada and Marco pulled over at Cada's house and awkwardly said nothing while going upstairs.

"You own Charlotte; take care of her."

While seated on Cada's bed, Marco spoke while holding his head up. In an attempt to calm herself, Cada closed her eyes and inhaled deeply.

She was aware of Charlotte's intentions exactly, but she was baffled by them.

"She is endangering the whole vampire coven with everything she does."

"Marco, I am aware of it. He must also be present if she is.

Cada approached and peered through the window's curtains. Either Pitre or Gomez accompanied her, and Marco is at risk.

"He who?"

"Unless she can control her thirst, neither Pitre nor Gomez would let her come alone."

Cada continued by taking a seat next to Marco.

"Have they arrived?" Do you sense them?"

Cada inquired of Marco, who nodded without feeling any cold sweat. He knew if they found him, he would be dead, which would be in accordance with the rules.

Jake called a pack meeting in the mansion, citing the sirens and the fact that Charlotte was returning home and the Cullens were charged with attempted kidnapping.

"She is a volturi; we pursue her and question her. Uninvited vampires only last for three hours, we have maybe 2 hours."

"The Cullens require our assistance."
