Chapter 8

I was going to my friend Chris's house. While I was walking up the hill (opposite from Riley's colony) I out on my iPod and listened to a song called Bam by Miranda Cosgrove. The lyrics got stuck inside my head. They related to my situation more than any song I had listened to. 

(Lyrics that related to my crush situation):

Bam! My life is changing!

Can't concentrate! Bam!

I was okay until we met that day when.. Bam!

I am obsessed! Bam!

Can't get no rest! Bam!

Ever since we met I think I know what love is! 

It was a short walk to his house, so right when the song ended I got to the house. His father was good friends with my father, so they hung out a lot. We were watching videos from his iPad and suddenly the song turned on from my iPod again. "Oops! I'll shut that off!" I said. "What song was that?" Chris asked me. "Oh it's just an old Miranda Cosgrove song I downloaded a long time ago." I said. "Oh, okay. What ever. Wanna go play baseball in the park?" he asked. "Sure." I said. We played for a little while until my dad said that we should go to the pool. I walked home to change into my bathing suit. Chris and his father net us at the pool and we played water voleyball. I was getting tired and hungry so I went into the consession stand inside the small building next to the pool and ordered cookie dough ice cream. After I finished I went back near the pool and fell asleep. I had dreams about me singing the Miranda Cosgrove song and being in a music video that was being shot near Riley's colony. In my dream I didn't even realize that it wasn't reality. I thought it was real life. I got so nervous because when I was on break he came up to me and said "So.. I think everyone knows that the song is about me." he whispered. "Um.. uh.. um.. n-n-no." I said nervously. "Don't deny it. It's alright. I think it's cute." he said as I started to blush and get more nervous. I finally woke and realized it was a dream. When I woke up, I looked around the pool and saw that no one was there. Did they leave me alone? I walked home and saw everyone at home. "Dad! Why did you leave me? Why couldn't you wake me up?" I asked in an annoyed way. "I thought you went to the other colony." he said. "Oh.. well that expains a lot." I said.
