It was all a blur.

The bed he was in felt unfamiliar.

Itachi squinted his eyes, trying to get a better view of his surroundings. Slowly, disfigured lines came together to form objects and gradually the objects obtained different colours. He tried to look around but a sudden sharp pain in the back of his head prevented him from doing so.

'Where am I?' he thought while sitting up groggily.

Itachi could not sense any chakra in the room which meant that there was no one around him. Ignoring the pain, he quickly scanned the room for any possible threat. The walls were painted with a white colour that looked way too dull but the room's colourful furniture stopped the atmosphere from being depressing. The room contained an unhealthy amount of pink and while he doubted that the owner could be dangerous, he knew better than to make any assumptions this early. His bed was located in the left corner of the room and on the other side of the room was a bright pink dresser with numerous makeup accessories scattered over it. The mirror was surrounded by stickers. A few feet away was a pink wardrobe with its doors slightly open. From what he could see, there were a lot of clothes inside and was surprised to discover that none of the clothes were pink. All the other furniture was pink too and Itachi felt his head spin again.

Was he, by chance, kidnapped by a child?

He then immediately scoffed at the mere thought of a kid harming him. 'A child? Kidnapping me?'

But still...what had happened? How did he get hurt and why was he here of all places? Itachi closed his eyes and tried to remember but nothing came to his mind. His last memory was of him running away from Jiraiya-san with Kisame and then his mind went blank. No matter how hard he exerted his mind to recollect his memories, he simply could not recall anything related to him coming here and that annoyed the hell out of him.

'Why can't I remember anything?' he thought as he looked around the room once again. The window beside his bed was open and he couldn't help but be amazed at the ridiculousness of his kidnapper. 'Who the hell keeps someone as a hostage and then keeps windows open? Or maybe...I haven't been kidnapped...?' Truly, when he did look at himself, he realised that he had been wrapped around a warm blanket.

His hands and feet were free and besides him was *surprise surprise* a bright table. Placed on it was a glass of water and Itachi suddenly realised how thirsty he was. His throat was parched and his mouth felt tasteless; how long had he been out? A day? A month? It could have been years but he could not tell. He slowly reached towards the glass.

Suddenly he felt the presence of someone's chakra and he withdrew his hands from the glass. Shortly afterwards he heard footsteps coming towards the room. Due to his hazy mind and aching body, Itachi could not take any action on time and before he knew it, the door opened slightly and the scent of freshly cooked food wafted inside the room. A small figure hesitatingly entered the room. The person was carrying a large tray that contained various bowls and plates. When he saw that his guest was up, he hastened his pace and quickly placed the food on the table beside him.

When he was close enough for Itachi to actually look at him, Itachi noticed that the intruder was not a 'he' but a 'she'. She had dark brown hair that came up to her chest and brown eyes. She was taller than average but her height was still less when compared to himself. Her skin was slightly tanned and Itachi could see a few acne scars on her face too. Her hands that were now setting the food had blemishes and had a few traces of soot. As he observed her, he realised that the girl was what Hidan would sometimes describe as "average".

As if she noticed him staring at her, she turned to look at him and then smiled a little.

"You're up quite early." She said while smiling politely.

Itachi froze, alarms setting off in his head. Despite the welcoming aura coming off from her, he could not let his guard down. He could only cock his head to one side and looked at her questioningly hoping that she would mysteriously get his question: 'Who was she?'

Surprisingly, she gave him the exact answer that he was hoping for. "I'm Hinami Sato. Don't you remember what happened?"

Itachi slowly shook his head.

"I see. You must have been exhausted, no? Eat this food and I'll...try to explain this situation to you; at least as much as I can." Hinami motioned towards the food that she had set towards the table.

'Does she really think that I will eat this?' Itachi thought. Accepting food from strangers was the worst thing one could do to themselves but his stomach grumbled,as if reminding him that he probably hadn't consumed anything in days. Itachi looked up and saw her looking at him expectantly. He sighed, knowing that he had to eat anyway. He felt drained and had no clue how much energy was needed if he ever decided to fight. He truly had the worst luck didn't he? He had developed resistance to many types of poisons, so the chances of this killing him were low anyway. Still, with hopelessness filling every inch of his being, Itachi picked up the bowl of rice and began to eat.
