CHAPTER 3– HINAMI
True to its name, Wanigakure had an abundance of crocodiles. From food to clothing and even transportation, they were used for almost everything. The fact that most of its 'roads' were basically just canals or streams, made using crocs for transport extremely feasible. Even the hill situated on the corner of this small village was shaped to look like a crocodile.
Wanigakure was also the village where Hinami Sato was born. It was the place where she had spent the last sixteen years of her life. It was the place where she had buried her parents and it eventually became the place that had shunned her.
After the execution of her parents after being merely accused of being spies sent by the shinobi, Hinami had become an outcast amongst those she had considered her own. Haruki Sato, her father, was a simple calligraphy teacher while her mother, Himari Sato, taught embroidery to the local girls. They were pretty normal people, their only crime being that they were born in another village right on the border which connected Tetsu-no-Kuni from a Shinobi Hidden Village.
Her life had then turned quiet, save for an incident that had occurred almost a week ago.
It had been exactly seven days since she had stumbled upon that man.
It had been seven days since she had been sleeping on the cold hard floor, while he had slept on her bed.
She had to scavenge the entire hill to look for different types of herbs that could be used to cook medicinal broths. While she had no clue on how to use chakra to heal wounds, she did know enough regarding herbs, a courtesy of spending the last few years of her life on her own.
The shinobi had woken up seven days after she had found him. She had spent the entire day looking for a specific type of ginseng. Ever since her so-called 'exile', she had avoided going back into Wani. But as days passed and the shinobi's health stayed almost the same, Hinami had feared that maybe a small trip to the local herbalist seemed inevitable.
However, to her surprise, as she walked into her room, she found that man awake. Not only was he up, he had also managed to sit straight.
Her relief was so immense that she had almost dropped the tray to the floor.
"So..." Hinami trailed off .
Hell, what was she supposed to say? Her guest had long finished the food she had made and was now staring idly at her. What do you do in situations like these? He wasn't even asking her anything so how was she supposed to know what this guy wanted? Deciding that it was best for her to leave, she stood up but before she could take a step, he spoke: "Why am I here?"
Hinami almost laughed at this question but then remembered that he was injured, "That is something that only you can know. I found you unconscious and bloody on my way into the forest and had to bring you here to tend to your wounds."
"So you're a kunoichi?" He asked.
"Uh... no. I have no clue on how to use ninjutsu. I'm just a normal person. Not even a doctor. So, I'm sorry if you're disappointed but your wounds are going to heal slowly."
She paused for a moment.
"And please make sure to not to mention the...S-word here. It's kind of forbidden. Ummm...and...they'll punish you if they find out that you're a...you know...shi...shino...you understand what I mean, right?" She whispered out the last part. "Anyways, you have to get out of here in five days."
"It's ok. I don't mind." Why the hell did he look and sound so relieved? How was the news of your wounds recovering slowly supposed to give you relief? "I'd actually like to excuse myself this instant."
"Huh?"
