The muffeled yells seap through Bella's covered ears. She may be use to her parents fighting but that didn't mean she liked it. The day had just begun and a fight was already in progress. The long hand on the clock ticked, mocking Bella with all the possibilities of those passing moments. Bella looked down at the floor wondering how long it would last this time. Minutes? Hours? Bella stood up and opened her window. This wasn't the first time she had done this and it most certainly would not be the last.
After a long walk Bella's shoes were eventually off and she was trudging through the sand feeling the grains between her toes. As she looked down the beach she smiled. This was the one place she felt she belonged. The wind blew bringing the smell of the salty sea through the air. Bella took a deep breath taking in the salty scent. Soon she arrived at the dock and began walking down. At the end she sat down and hung her legs over the edge.
As she looked out over the ocean she began imagining a life underwater. Her mind wandered through beautiful tales of 'what if's' and 'would be's'. Taking her away into her own world, shutting out the one she despised. She would sit here until her mother came looking for her, yelling for her to not run off like she did and that it was very immature for her age. But until then, Bella was going to enjoy the sea, her home.
