The first session of camp always goes by way too fast. It isn't until the second Wednesday of the session that I realize Niall's barely asked me a question since last week. He really was a fast learner. Sure, Niall still likes to be attached to my hip, but besides that, he isn't constantly in need of my guidance. Maybe he relies on Zayn for questions now.

niall: I'm going on a hike with a few of my campers do you want to come?
savs: let me ask my girls

"Does anyone want to go on a hike with the eleven year old boys?" I asked the cabin. We were inside for what Danielle liked to call a 'midday refresh'.

Six yesses and twelve nos. What the hell, that was a big enough group to take.

savs: I'll be there with some girls in five minutes
niall: awesome im so excited

"Why do we do so much with the boys?" Victoria asked me as we walked to the edge of the woods.

"Counselor Niall is new and he likes having a buddy to do things with. I'm like his buddy," I replied.

"So you're like his girlfriend?" She asked.

"Let's put a space between the words girl and friend.

"He wishes you were his girlfriend!" Liana exclaimed, "he's so totally in love with you. It's obvious, Savannah."

"Guys, that is not true," I chuckled as Niall waved across the grass. I waved back with a smile. It wasn't true.

"I'm really glad you could come," Niall told me a few minutes into our walk.

"I haven't gotten the chance to take a hike yet this year. I'm glad I could come too," I smiled.

"I was out here yesterday with these guys too. They really like it. They like to act like explorers," he told me.

"Aidan, stop running!" He yelled to the boy at the front of the group.

"Sorry, Niall!" He replied slowing down.

"Wow, you really got the boys in line this week," I chuckled, "a lot has changed in the past four days."

"I learn fast. Also, you, Zayn, and Liam have basically helped me every step of the way," he chuckled.

"Our pleasure," I replied taking a little bow as he clapped.

"So, are you excited about poker tonight?" I asked, "you know since you didn't go last week."

"Oh, I am. Payno basically begged me to come, so I have big expectations," he chuckled.

"Good!" I exclaimed, "it's going to be so much fun. You are genuinely going to love it."

"Wow, really?" He asked.

"Yes!" I exclaimed, "Liam and Harry the twelve year old counselor basically run the whole thing. They take it super seriously, but it's a lot of fun."

I spent the rest of my day looking forward to poker. I had stopped in last week, but I didn't want to participate at all. Tonight I was hoping to play some cards with Liam and rack his brain.

I was barely getting any information from Niall and Lexi about the other. I wanted to know if Niall was telling anything to Liam or the guys. I usually didn't get the chance to talk to anyone one on one during the day due to the fact that I had at least three eleven year old girls following me around at everyone moment. Wednesday nights were a different story though.

Paul always said that he thought we deserved a break during the week. Since he obviously couldn't run the camp by himself, we had to have our break on grounds.

Part of me always loved the fact that all counselor bonding happened at camp. It made me feel so much more connected to them. Like this camp was a secret that we all kept together.
