*Time skip* (A few months later)

Since that day, most things changed. Yn, who had started living the happiest moments of her life in the presence of her ex-professor Taehyung had gone back to being a loner. She was hardly seen outside her room and even in college, she hardly hung out with her friends.

She would spend hours drowning into her books or completing the research work she was authorized to do. It was on the verge of completion and several things were starting to make sense to her (regarding the research).

In the process, her 1st year of college ended well. She topped her class.

In the background, Jungkook remained as her lone confidante at college. Even though she would hardly hang out with Jimin, Yoongi and Hoseok, Jungkook made sure she had company. He just loved her a lot, maybe that made it impossible for him to move on from her. He still hoped somewhere that she would belong to him. And to his relief, she hardly ever mentioned Taehyung before him.

Every night when she came back home exhausted, she would be greeted by her 'step-brother' in the living room. She did not have anything against the child - he was innocent.

But she remained indifferent to Mr. Song who would silently retreat to his room after coming back from work at night. Yes, he had an outlet of his business in Seoul and due to some unexpected losses, the outlet was about to shut down.

The reason he came back to Korea was to make sure everything was fine. But it would be a lie to say that it was the only reason he came back. He definitely had other plans.

Almost every night, she talked to Taehyung with a big smile on her face. His therapy was going well and he was doing a good job there, earning enough for himself and their future. He spoke decent English, with an accent that was so native to Korea. Yn never talked about her personal life, the turbulence she was facing each day.

She kept her smile one while talking to him, making sure he didn't worry for her. She even forbade Jimin from telling him anything as long as he was there.

Soojin on the other hand too had drowned in her studies, mainly because it was her final year in high-school. In order to get admission in a good college of Law, she had to crack the entrance exam.

Life was busy for both the sisters, or rather... they wished to keep it busy. They only ever came out of their rooms to have dinner, and then silently retreated to their rooms.

One night in Summer:

It was raining heavily outside her window. Vision was blurred and so was her mind. The events of the day clouded her mind and the pain they caused flowed like tears.

Flashback (Earlier in the day)

Soojin had stayed home that day because she was suffering Pneumonia. Yn insisted to stay and tend to her but Soojin did not want her sister to miss this special day at college. Yes, it was her felicitation day at the end of first year. Since she topped, she would be awarded by the college President himself.

Moreover, the research paper she had been preparing as an intern (The college had recommended her name for internship at a renowned research institute in Seoul). She loved her job and with the help of her seniors at the research institute, she could get answers to a lot of questions. She even got access to use advanced research machineries to carry out experiments if necessary. Her seniors were impressed with her intelligence and dedication towards her subject - something that was so rare in students of the present.

Coming back to her felicitation day at college. It was warm and welcoming. There were few renowned guests for the day and the President and Trustee of the Institute themselves.

Prizes were given away to students from all majors and when it came to Physics, Yn was called up. She gladly received her prize and got down from the stage.

Since Soojin could not accompany her, Jimin, Yoongi, and Jungkook did. They were truly happy for her.

"Wow! I mean she deserves every bit of the praise she gets... trust me! I am proud of her!" Jimin yelled and hugged her dearly.

"If only I were gifted with half of her intelligence, I would find myself over cloud nine. Anyways, I hate college, and now I am free from it finally." Yoongi and Jimin were graduating since it was their final year.

"Ah, Yoongi hyung, you know you have your own business now... who would anyway care for studies, isn't it?" Jimin wiggled his eyebrows teasingly and Yoongi snapped back.

"Same to you. But I would not study even if I weren't the millionaire I am. I hate studying. You know, I would make my own career in music or basketball. I love both of them only. I never thought running a company would be such a pain in the ass too." He sighed walking out of the auditorium.

"Why Hyung, isn't everything going alright with the company?" Jungkook questioned, standing up from his seat. "It is, but it sucks to keep everything alright." It was his turn for the next prize. "Excuse me." He made his way towards the aisle as his name was called out.

"He came third in his major." Jimin whispered to Yoongi. "Ah, all intelligent kids. I feel illiterate before them." Yoongi commented and went back to sleep. "Just call me once everything is over."

"Jimin, I will just grab a bottle of water." Yn informed and left the auditorium.

A while later, her phone buzzed and she looked at it. Her brows furrowed in confusion. A call from an unknown number. She received it and the next thing she heard made the ground beneath her feet shift.

"I want you at home, right now, else forget about seeing your sister forever."

The voice was too familiar for her to be mistaken. Mr Song.
