I was jolted awake by the incessant banging on my chamber door. As I stood up to open it, I felt a wave of dizziness wash over me. I grasped my hair, tugging it hard, and realized the crying must have caused the lightheadedness. I made a mental note to take a pain reliever.

Before opening the door, I glanced in the mirror beside it to ensure I looked presentable, like a crown princess should. But, oh dear, I was far from it! My hair resembled a hornet's nest, my eyes were a pale shade of red, and dried drool marked my chin. This was unlike me, especially since becoming crown princess.

The banging persisted as I hastily retreated to my bathroom. I quickly washed my face, brushed my teeth, and combed my hair neatly. After a final glance in the mirror, I took a deep breath and opened the door. Kira looked worried, accompanied by two royal physicians judging by their uniforms, and two burly guards carrying a hammer and saw.

"What's going on?" I asked. "You've been acting strange lately," Kira explained. "I banged on your door for a long time, and when you didn't respond, I considered breaking it down. As a precaution, I summoned the physicians to check if you were hale and hearty. Please, Are you okay?"

"Don't worry, I'm fine," I said smoothly. "I was just freshening up in the bathroom and couldn't come out immediately, that's all."

Kira raised an eyebrow, her expression skeptical. ''Okay, I guess,'' she replied. "Kira, is that all?" I asked, trying to dismiss the tension. ''No, actually, I came to...'' she trailed off. "Are they still needed?" I asked, nodding towards the physicians. Kira turned to them and nodded, and they quickly dispersed.

''So?'' I asked again, inviting her to continue. "Oh, yes, may I come in?" she asked, hesitating at the threshold. "You can", I responded, gesturing for her to begin. She settled onto a nearby sofa, and I sat on my bed, urging her to continue with a glance. She took a deep breath and started, "Uncle Dairrus has requested that you pack up for the next congress meeting in Dael." ''Okay, and...?'' I said, unconvinced that's all she had to share on this freezing cold morning.

"How did you know I had something else to tell you?" she asked, gasping. I rolled my eyes before responding, "I'm your sister, of course I know you're hiding something - or rather, hiding things." ''Okay, you got me,'' she admitted. "Just promise you won't freak out". ''I won't, I promise,'' I responded with a smile. "I initially wanted to tell you, but since you took your time freshening up, I decided to drop it until tomorrow." She said whilst glancing at the magazine on the sofa.

''What is it?'' I asked anxiously. "The Pack's council has decided to marry you off to Martin, Uncle Dairrus's son.'' she finished, her eyes fixed intently on mine.
