It's been 4 days since Cassie and James were born. Chloe was able to leave the infirmary, but for now she was unable to participate in night patrols. Alec helped wife out with Cassie and James whenever he could because he knew Chloe was still sore from giving birth.

As it happened, Cassie often woke up during the night because she was either hungry or needed a diaper change, and woke James up in the process.

She and Alec agreed that Jace could have contact with Cassie. However, on condition that no one finds out that he is her father. The couple did not want to become the subject in Idris gossip and bring disgrace to the Lightwood name.

Izzy often visited Cassie and James and bought them lots of clothes.

Currently

Jace was in Chloe and Alec's room and with smiling in face, rocking his daughter Cassie, who was cooing at him and reaching out towards him. The man loved her from the moment he held her in his arms for the first time. He was happy to be a part of her life.

His life started to fall into place. He learned that he came from an elite Herondale family, had a grandmother and could be close to his daughter and Chloe.

- Someone's in a good mood today - Jace said as he looked at his daughter.

- Only now - Said Chloe, who came out of the bathroom. The girl watched with a smile on her face as Jace dealt with Cassie. - She cries very loudly at night and wakes up James

- After all, she's our daughter and she does what she wants - The blonde man noted, and Chloe kissed Cassie on the forehead.

- I know that - Chloe said. I'm sure Cassie will still do what she wants when she grows up, but she'll also be a strong and talented shadowhunter - Chloe said with a smile, glad that she no longer felt uncomfortable around Jace.

The girl approached the bed and looked at her son, who was sleeping soundly.

Even though the children hadn't even been a week old, Chloe noticed that James was calm and Cassie was curious and loved being the center of attention.

- Cassie is the only good thing that has come out of our relationship - Jace said and continued to gently rock his daughter, who almost fell asleep in his arms.

- I think the baby wants to sleep - Chloe informed him, and Jace walked over to the bed and placed his daughter there.

- Goodnight, princess - The blonde man whispered to Cassie, who immediately fell asleep. Jace covered her with a pink blanket.

After a while, Jace left the room.
