"Stop right there, Wei Wuxian!" The command echoed in the quiet room, rousing the boy from his deep sleep. Despite awakening, he remained composed, his jade white robes impeccably neat as befitting the second Jade Clan Master of Gusu. After freshening up, he emerged in another pristine white robe and stepped outside.

Lan Wangji had been haunted by dreams of a mysterious man named Wei Wuxian for some time. Though his face was blurry, its divine beauty lingered in Wangji's mind. Each time Wei Wuxian appeared, he whispered enigmatic words, teasing Wangji before vanishing into thin air, leaving Wangji perplexed. The mysterious location and the man from his dreams remained unfamiliar to Lan Wangji, causing him to hesitate in confiding in his older brother, Lan Xichen.

As he grasped his sword with care in his right hand and donned a white ribbon on his forehead, Lan Wangji, blessed with a remarkably handsome and divine countenance, made his way to his morning class. At the age of sixteen, his captivating charm was so potent that both girls and boys would readily sacrifice anything for him.

"Good morning, Uncle," he greeted as he entered the classroom where his uncle was teaching. He went directly to his seat and sat down, ignoring the commotion around him. Once the morning classes ended, he proceeded to his sword practice. "You've improved a lot, Wangji," his older brother, Lan Xichen, commented with a warm smile. Wangji simply hummed in response. At the end of the day, he returned to his room, prepared for bed, and let the darkness envelop him.

That night, Lan Wangji once again dreamed of the mysterious man, Wei Wuxian. The enigmatic figure teased him by whispering in his ear and then grasped his sleeve, urging him to follow. Lan Wangji silently complied until they stood before a towering mountain, seemingly sealed with talismans. A sense of déjà vu overwhelmed him. Wei Wuxian leaned in close and whispered, "Free me, love."
