"Hm...? Do you hear that?"
I turned my attention away from my novel, bookmarking my page before closing it. I could hear a faint booming sound. Only seconds had past before that booming, now resembling that of thunder, had closed in on our location.
"I do," I answered with a cheery smile. "If I'm not mistaken: that sound is the tempest that is Lady Albedo's fury."
My sisters and I (excluding Solution) were all gathered in our recreational chambers. I had been indulging in a lovely novel, patiently awaiting the arrival of Lady Albedo which I knew would come soon.
Especially after I had Lupusregina tamper with the resignation note Y/N left on Lady Albedo's office door.
I felt bad for the rest of my sisters. It was only Lupusregina and I who knew what was coming. While it certainly wouldn't be easy for us... it would be no picnic for the three of them especially.
Entoma, Narberal and even Shizu were all visibly shaken. Narberal was biting her lower lip and Entoma was making a faint chittering sound, I recognized it as the same sound she made whenever a possible threat was near. Shizu's mechanisms were locking up. I could hear her body rattle as she struggled to move even her wrist. Lupusregina was also quite afraid, though just a bit less than the rest of our sisters as this maelstrom was something both she and I were expecting.
Nevertheless, expecting the storm was almost worse than actually being in it. I could tell anxiety was eating away at her viscously. I felt guilty for allowing her involvement, but she had volunteered to do so. Though, I was certain now she was absolutely regretting that decision.
At long last, the door was blown off the hinges and in came Lady Albedo. She twirled her axe, 3F, before aiming it toward us.
"Where is he?" she hissed.
"E-Rantel. With Solution," I answered willfully, forcing my smile to remain as beads of sweat fell down my face. "He'll be back in a few days."
"No," Lady Albedo said firmly. "He's dealt with now. He's overstepped for the last time!"
My sisters all looked to me, but only Lupusregina wasn't completely filled with worry and concern. They all seemed to be expecting some kind of dramatic, grandiose reaction from me but I had nothing of the sort to offer them.
I only rose from my chair and pushed it toward the table with a smile on my face before turning to face Lady Albedo. Even when faced with her cruel fury, I remained steadfast and kept smiling.
"Well, if you have Lord Ainz' permission then I suppose there's nothing to be done," I shrugged. "I'm just curious though. Are you actually going to torment him? Or kill him?"
"Does it matter...?" Lady Albedo spat.
"No, I suppose not," I said, widening my gleeful smile. "It's just strange to me. Wouldn't harming or killing him be detrimental to your mental health?"
"I beg your pardon?" Lady Albedo stomped forward, not hesitating for a moment to shove her face toward mine. "Are you belittling me?"
