Stumbling

I was stumbling. Stumbling for quite the while, I now realize. Now my feet have given out. I have tripped. My fingers ache as they latch to the cliff. My ears deafen amidst my screams, calling, pleading, hoping a hand will emerge from the skies to grasp my outstretched hand and lift me from the awaiting doom. I know, once I fall in, it will be a deep trench graced with enticing waters amongst the base. And I remember how I can not swim. How I drown.
