Well, that took no more than a minute. I looked around to see all the other people still filling out their forms. Their hands scribbling down on the white paper. I scooted out of the black chair, the wood scratching against the tile floor making all of their black eyes look up at me judgmentally. I shot them a shy smile and made my way toward the glass front desk. The tile checkered floor was so cold that I could feel it numbing my toes with every step. The man at the front desk looked at me with a kind smile. The first that I have seen all day.

I made my way to the front of the desk and gently passed my paper to the man. I was about to walk away when he put his hand up to stop me. He scanned over the paper quickly and looked back up at me. His kind green eyes had disappeared and was replaced with dark black circles. He quickly stood from his seat, his chair falling from the sudden action creating a bang that echoed throughout the glass lobby. I started to hear the same noise from behind me to see all the other people had done the same; their eyes growing darker by the second.

The sun outside started to darken as grey clouds passed in front of it. Everyone started to walk towards me. I looked back at the once nice guy and saw that he started to climb over his desk with his eyes locked on mine. I quickly looked toward the door; the light slightly shining on it.

My escape...

Just before I was about to run to it, two security guards walked and stood in front, blocking my only chance of escape. Everyone started to surround me, their eyes full of hate. They stood in a perfect circle around me and just waited. I looked at all of them; all their eyes were locked on me, my every movement, and my every breath.

The once kind man made his way through the crowd, which seemed as it had doubled. His black eyes starred into mine as he growled one word in great disgust.

"Rouge."

I looked around to see all of the people with their teeth showing and low growls coming from everyone. The sound echoed around the room, taunting me. The sound kept getting louder and louder. I sat down on the ground, closed my eyes, and covered my ears, trying to make the noise stop. I rocked back and forth, the noise seeming grow even louder with my ears covered. The noise seemed to last forever until it abruptly stopped. Beneath my closed eyelids, I saw the darkness get lighter as if the sun was coming out again. I opened my eyes to see the most of the people in the circle laying on the ground, small pools of black lay around them.

Blood as black as their eyes

I looked to the other side of the circle to see a man with his back facing me. His arms attacking the last standing man to the ground. Once he was down, others started to try to break through the door. The amount of them seemed to double by the second. Just as they broke through the door, he made his way over to me. The black blood of the people dripping from his fingers onto the ground where my eyes were now locked. He did it with such speed that I couldn't even see his face. He wrapped his strong arms around my waist and lifted me up off the ground. Just before they swarm of black eyed monsters made their way to us, he ran in the opposite direction, holding me tight to his body.

I looked over his shoulder to see the mass of people running toward us.

"Just breathe, I'm getting you out of here." His deep voice calmed me instantly. His arms wrapped tighter around me, creating a protective shield. Just as we made it to a door, he put me down. I could hear the loud noises of feet stomping the ground in the distance. Fear ran though my veins at the thought of them getting us.

"Run", he said quickly. He looked the other way so I couldn't see his face. He ran his fingers through his blonde hair and took a minute to regain his breathe. Right before I made my way out the door, I looked behind me and into a pair of piercing green eyes.

I quickly sat up, the movement breaking me from my slumber. It didn't take as long as it did before to regain my breathe. This nightmare, reoccurring every night, taunting me in my only time when I can rest. Although nightmare is the right word for this dream, it doesn't seem fitting for one reason, him. I have no idea how this mysterious man made his way into my subconscious, but he is my only light. Even though I don't know his face, he's my savior, the only thing that has protected me in a long time.

I laid back down on the ground, some twigs snapping in the process. The trees swayed with the wind, slowly and calmly. The leaves brushed together making a soothing noise as I pulled the thin blanket tighter around my freezing body. I know I can't stay here long, but I just need a few more hours of sleep. Two more hours and I'll be gone before the sun rises, before anyone can find me and hurt me. I'll be safe for just a little while.

The whooshing sound of the leaves continued, slowly bringing me back into a deep sleep.
