jake's aunt gets sick-the summer after his freshman year at college, he moves in to take care of her. she still lives in the same small town his mother left when she was 18.
jake is prepared for an uneventful summer, but then he meets heeseung.

Jake sits on the cold plastic chair in the waiting room while his aunt sees the doctor. The town's family clinic handles colds, bumps, and bruises—for x-rays, surgeries and other more serious ailments, people from town have to drive to the nearest hospital. Unfortunately, it's about a forty-five-minute drive. His Aunt's appointment was at 9 AM, so they had to leave at 8:15. And Jake had meant to make some instant coffee but he overslept.
Jake shakes his head and checks his phone.
Sunghoon still hasn't paid Sunoo
Jake: I need coffee ☹
Jay: I've already had two cups.
Sunoo: I can only drink lattes.
Heeseung: Did you make it to the hospital okay?
Jay: Shit. I forgot that was today.
Jake: We're here. She wouldn't let me go back with her though.
Jake: Stubborn woman.
Jiwon: Pretty sure that gene runs strong in your family.
Jake: :P
Jiwon: Do you think you'll be back by dinner time?
Jake: I think so? I can't see why not.
Jiwon: Parents are hosting a grill night. You and Hayun are invited, but I forgot to tell you yesterday.
Jake: You mean when you nearly killed me?
Jiwon: It wasn't that bad of a hike!
Jake: I had to carry Sunghoon by the end.
Jiwon: You all need to improve your stamina!
Jay: I'm so grateful I had work.
Sunoo: Same. I'm too delicate for fitness trainer Jiwon.
Heeseung Yeah, glad I was at the diner.
Jiwon: I'm just looking out for you all!
Heeseung: Also, Jake, you should tell Hayun that my parents are going...both of them.
Jay: Ooo I forgot Jake hasn't met your mom yet.
Heeseung: Lucky for him
Jake: Got it. I'll pass on the message.
Jake debates whether he should see if there is a cafeteria on this floor when he gets an individual text from Heeseung.
Heeseung: Did you really not have any coffee this morning?
Jake: Sadly, no. I woke up too late to make myself some instant coffee.
