"Your number?"

Josie choked on thin air as the words left Hope's mouth, coughing up a storm as she tries to clear her airways. Hope sits back chuckling slightly as she rests in her seat, thinking to herself how cute she looked even while choking. "Umm, a-are you being serious?" she asks as her face flushes red, as she tries to keep her eyes on the the older girl. "One hundred percent." the auburnette reaches into her pocket to get out her phone, giving it to the brunette with a slight smirk on her face.

Her hands shake violently as she takes it, contemplating whether or not she should put her number in. On one hand she could put her number in and wait for Hope to text, and on the other this could all be some brutal prank on her, she decides to take a leap and put her number in and passes it back to the older. "Thanks, you should expect a text soon." her heart basically leaps out of her chest as she hears that, her tone dripping with flirtatiousness and a slight bit of seduction and it was too much for her to take and process and it felt like she was having a heart attack.

"But anyway, tell me more, like... what's your favorite food?" Josie chuckles slightly as she turns to Hope. "That's the best question you could come with?" she asks through laughter while the auburnette sits back and admires her beautiful smile that she could look at forever. "I panicked! But, it's a valid question." "Umm, I don't know... french fries?" "That's such a random answer."

An hour had passed by but it only felt like a few seconds for the girls, so immersed in the conversation that it felt like they hadn't talked at all. Hope had taken the time and opportunity to admire her features every second of their conversation, she just couldn't get enough. She went on with her interview, which took two hours to film because she kept getting distracted by the puppies that they brought for it. It was cute for Josie to see her in that setting, baby talking small puppies and just smiling so genuinely, it was refreshing, she always seemed so morbid on set, it was nice to see her like this.

She felt her phone buzz, reading the message she looks up at Hope with a small smile, seeing her look up from her phone with a smug grin.

Her face heats up as she reads the last text, her heart beating rapidly, her head lifts, meeting Hope's green-ish blue eyes, she puts on a small smile acting like she wasn't about to go into cardiac arrest from the amount of times she's flirted through text.

i think you adore me 🤷‍♀️

She looks up from her phone to see the girl walking towards her, taking a seat next to her. "Do you though? Adore me?" "I used to, but after that teasing I've stopped." the two of them chuckle a bit, it was nice to find someone with whom conversation flows freely and it wasn't awkward at all. Landon watches the two girls from a distance, balling his fists up at his sides as he watches the scene unfold between the two, seeing them laugh together and smile like they've known each other for years. He wanted to walk toward them and separate them, but that would be inappropriate and he would be seen as the jealous ex, he just always thought that he and Hope would be together for the rest of their lives.

As the day soon came to an end, Hope's schedule had nothing else on it and she was just going to go back to her apartment but she didn't want her day with Josie to end so soon. She looks over to the brunette, taking in her side profile, wondering how someone could look so effortlessly perfect all the time. Her eyes didn't want to leave her, for some reason she was stuck, and she didn't mind at all, Jose was a joy to just stare at, a beautiful work of gorgeous art and who would want to take their eyes off of something that is that mesmerizing.

The car comes to a sudden stop, the auburnette looks out to see them stop at her uncle Elijah's hotel, meaning that the brunette would have to get off and she wouldn't see her for the next two days. She decides to take in a deep breath, gathering enough courage to ask her to hang out or do something with her. "Bye, Hope." with that, she left the car and made her way into the hotel, meaning she had absolutely missed her chance. She takes in her deep sigh, holding her head in her hands with a slightly sad expression, she felt a bit sad, for what reason? She genuinely didn't know, Josie was just another intern... right?

How she wished this light admiration would stop... it's starting to drive her mad.

sometimes i ask myself where this book is going... and the answer is, i have no clue

anyways, enjoy this (shitty) chapter!
