Stay Alive

Chapter 2

The news blared the argument between the natives and us immigrants that the migration needs to stop since the planet is likely to over populate. So the ships that came in were sent elsewhere. By elsewhere I mean Dexter 1966Q and Delta449B. Those are closest inhabitable planets. The others are impossible to live in. There were talks about evicting us humans so that the locals can live in peace. The humans promised to stay in their lane. The Humanous nocturnum weren't trusting us since their prince was missing. I was sitting in the balcony when one of the humans said that they should treat the locals like Custer did to the Indians. The Nocturnum minister Zorm said that he should like to try that with us. Apologies flew around but no deal was made.

I was walking to the fridge when I felt someone ask for my help. I felt a tug in my belly so I walked in the general direction. I told mom that I will be back in a moment. I found myself on under an airship flying towards the woods. A facility with humans guarding the place with guns blazing. It took me a few minutes to sneak in. I was pulled till I reached a room with a glass tube. It was filled with yellow liquid. Soon a figure was seen floating inside. He was awake and he was sedated. He can blink but can't do anything else. I blinked a few times and walked out to find an axe. I pulled it out and smashed the glass to smithereens. He came out like he was riding a tsunami. I pulled the tubes out of him and did CPR on him. All he did was stare at me.

I heard men coming. I picked up the axe and got ready to fight. The first batch were three men. I cut off the limbs and fed him to the man that popped out of the tube. After the third he got up and smiled. More were coming and I am sure they will lockdown the place. So I took his hand and ran to the exit. We ran to the door and tried to open the door. It wouldn't budge. We heard footsteps. Soon the room was filling up with men with guns. We were surrounded when the doors suddenly opened. I didn't need a written note I took his hand and bolted out. People started firing at us but I didn't care. I got what I came for. He and I ran till we were in the heart of the woods.

Soon a ship arrived to take us away. We got on board and one them hissed at us. The man hissed back at him. We were taken to the parliament where we had explain what happened to us. The human government denied that they had anything to do with us. They did say that they wanted to examine me to understand what was going on. I told them that I am willing give them a blood sample but I am not spending the rest of my life under a microscope. The governor for the humans assured them that the persons responsible will be handed over to ensure peace. The Nocturnum gave them twenty four hours and then they will take care of it.

As per my suggestion I gave them a single drop of my blood and went home. Mother and father were pleased to see me. We were having dinner when there was a knock on the door. A man in a suit came barging in. He wanted me to take back what I had said in the parliament since the Nocturnum is trying to evict them from this planet. I said that I am ready to move but I am not going to take back what had happened to me. The moments I felt violated is moments I can't take back. He gave me a sweet smile, "My dear. Please do it" I smiled, "You can put a gun to my head but my answer won't change at all"

His face soured but soon there was a different knock on the door. A Nocturnum walked in. He was six feet tall with auburn hair and red eyes. I asked him if he was here to ask me to retract my statement like this intruder. The Nocturnum gave him the look of death and the man tried to talk but the Nocturnum didn't let him. He introduced himself Helm. The chief detective in charge of the situation. He showed me a map and asked me to show him the places I had been to. The other man interrupted and he was arrested immediately. I showed him the location and the suit yelled at me for being a traitor. He sent the information to others and the suit was dragged out of the apartment.

I got a call from the government wanting me to go to a lab on the moon Orion for a routine check up. Helm said that it will not be necessary since I am moving to a lab in Nocturnum territory for examination. The governor wanted to say something but Helm hung up. He told me to say bye to my family and board his airship. Personally it looked like a blimp. I hopped on board and I was shown holographic images of people and I told them if I had seen them or not. I did mention that there were others in the glass encasing so they wanted me to identify them. All of them were dead. Some ran them over or they fell down the stairs or off the ledge. I guess I was next.

We reached our destination and saw a huge building made of marble. It was octagon shaped. The top was flat and sides were curved. It had a honeycomb style windows. There was a fountain with red substance shooting up every few seconds. A black haired woman in red clothes was waiting for me. She gave me a once over and escorted me inside. They examined me and found their prince's blood in my system. This wasn't taken well by their people. They asked me how I got the blood and I told what had happened. Some believed others didn't so I said when they raid the place go through security footage. They will see that I was tased like an animal and dragged to a room where I was deliberately injected. Apparently this was what they were waiting for. To prove that the humans can't govern themselves. The higher ups wanted to send me the eastern sector where they would dialysis to clean my blood. While the others said that it's my destiny and took me to the southern district.

The district had square holes with spiraling stairs and elevators on every corner. I was told that this district has only earth scrapers since the place is infamous for earthquakes. I was wondering what will happen to me when I was escorted to see Jym. He is a scientist that who does experiment on crossbreeding. He was delighted to see a human with Nocturnum blood coursing through their veins. He took a blood sample and took me to the inner sanctum. It felt scary as I walked down the steps.
