The night was dark and peaceful. The moon was absent from the sky but it was as izf the stars shone somewhat brighter to make up for its absence. Soft winds blew and the sound of rustling leaves along with melodies of flute enchanted the night of Dwarka. The king of Dwarka sat by the window, his eyes closed, playing the most wonderful tunes. The Flute was soon accompanied by the quite tinkle of anklets and humming of the chief queen. Krishna stopped playing and lovingly looked at his wife who giggled in return. "Well you look happy today, any specific reason" She asked "I am always happy when I am with you" Krishna replied taking her hand and guiding her to bed, resting his head on her lap . She chuckled "quite the charmer aren't you, What I meant was, you seem cheerful, almost exited, Not the usual kind of happiness of contentedness," Krishna smiled, She knew him to well. "Well, It's the possibility of my friend having a better future than what fate had planned for him" "Aaand?" "I am exited to see how things turn out" Rukmini raised and eyebrow at him, He chuckled "And I may have a hand in this change of fate" Rukmini finally seemed satisfied with answer "May?!" She laughed heartily "When does anything in this world happen against your will lord" He smiled at her sadly, 'If it was up to my will I would have made sure that we were never away from each other'. Krishna was brought out of his thoughts by a gentle shake on his shoulder. "where are you lost now?" "lost in you" Rukmini seemed at loss of words with that, She smiled as red tainted her cheek and Krishna grinned at the sight. God knows (Of course he does) he loves her dearly. "So you would you mind telling me how you helped out this friend of yours?" Rukmini asked, "well I just encouraged him to do something he wouldn't have done" Rukmini shook her head, "never getting a straight answer out of this man" she mumbled "Hey! I heard that" Krishna tried to sound offended, "I meant for you to" Krishna let out a dramatic gasped and Rukmini just rolled her eyes.
Arjun sighed, Tossing and turning around his bed, He couldn't sleep. He replayed todays event and groaned, God he had made a total fool out himself Infront of Karna. First he couldn't stand up for him, Then he fainted and Karna saw that and He stuttered and fumbled with his words, How could he sleep after embarrassing himself to this extent. But another thought troubled him. The sudden and urgent necessity he had got to thank Ashwatthama and to congratulate Karna, It almost seemed unnatural, not something he did out of his own instinct, And how quickly he had caught up with both of them, Even though they probably had left the gardens long before he woke up, It seemed like a miracle. "Well miracles are kind of my thing Parth" Arjun sat up with a jerk, "What the hell, What was that" He looked around trying to find the source of voice but found no one. "perhaps i have finally gone mad" He said and again fell on the bed, He heard a soft chuckle again but paid it no heed, He was just exhausted, But sleep seemed far away.
As tired as Karn was He knew Nidra devi is not going to bless him today. The soft luxurious bed, right now seemed the most uncomfortable thing in the world, Specially when he had hoped and craved for the rough mattresses of his home and the lap of his mother. His father had refused to come or to let him stay as he had denied to renounce the crown. "I am doing this for all of us baba, This society needs to change, I have to make life better for all the people of bounded in a miserable life by this cast system, I am sure you will understand some day", Karn got up. if he would lie a moment more on this bed he would sink in it, He was sure. "Well nothing better than a little Practice to clear my mind up" and with That he made his way out of the chamber.
To navigate through the palace seemed more difficult than making way out of a Chakravyuh. Not being able to find his way to the archery grounds after half an hour of search Karna resigned and opted for the forest. Perhaps the cool shade of tress be helpful in providing some peace. He found his way to the secluded area of the forest quite quickly. The target he made hung high on the branch of peepal swinging with the light wind. Another target, The very first one he had carved on the wood of the tree was still there. but faded. He touched the wood feeling the irregularities caused due to numerous arrows shot. People would say he was a natural, But he knew his first attempts were laughable, He had worked hard to reach where he is. Though not his skill but his attraction and love towards archery came out of instinct. And to take away a child's is to kill him form inside. A soft rustle was heard and Karn quickly changed his stance but to the utter shock of Karn it was Gangaputra Bhishma that had decided to pay this abandoned area of forest a visit. Karna did not hide his surprise on seeing him and Bhishma smiled at that. "You know for a warrior you are quite expressive" This angered karna, "So Mahamahim, You finally accepted a sutputra as a warrior, I thought my capabilities lied only in becoming a good charioteer" He said taunting the words he heard for Bhishma in childhood. "Well" bhishma replied "Who am i to judge when my guru accepted you as his disciple" And with that It all came flooding back, The insect cutting into his skin, blood flowing freely, And the curse. And the mighty warrior fell to his knees, He looked down at the feet of the great devavrat, The one that never broke his promise, the one that never lied, And it made him question himself ,was he worthy? Worthy of the knowledge and love of his guru? Worthy of the wisdom he of provided? Worthy of even his presence? "Am i worthy of it?" Those words tumbled of his tongue withpout his consent. and Bhishma looked at him, "Bhagwan parshuram would not have taken a desciple not worthy, He knows the value of knowledge", "He would have not agreed to teach if I had not lied" ."Lied??"
Hello dear readers.
Real happy to reach 1.2K reads. I still have to work on my writing skills ofcource I 'know that but hey I guess I'm improving. I hope I'm Improving, and I hope its not getting cheesy. I guess this chapter is lengthier, at least compared to the previous ones, So yayyy. And I always wanted a Conversation between Bhishma pitamah and Karna, Because first I believe Mahamahim was an incredibly great and virtuous character His sacrifice are worthy of many praises, But ofcource he had many flaws just like karna, And he his extremely guilty of his his mistakes just like karna, So It would Be a great conversation. It would be there in the next chapter. I hope you enjoyed this one though, And thanks for the votes and regular reads.
