****After the label Meeting****

The whole ride home I was quiet; I felt numb. My brain barely registered that Simone had been holding my hand the entire time. When we finally made it to the apartment I stripped out of my clothes leaving them in a trail behind me on my way to the bathroom so I could shower this nightmare off. I slammed the door leaving Simone on the other side of it.

I heard her husky sigh outside before turning on the water. I was basically catatonic. I ignored my phone leaving it somewhere that was not in the bathroom and curled up in the corner of the tub until the water ran cold. I finally climbed out wrapped in a towel, hair wet and climbed right in the bed with my back to the door.

Before I knew it I was waking up to Simone watching me sleep. She pulled me close and held me kissing the top of my head while she rocked me.

"I'm worried about you babe. I know you probably don't want me to but I am. You haven't said a word or eaten or even looked at me since you left your meeting. What's going on beautiful?" She rubbed my dry skin since I hadn't bothered putting on any lotion or do my face routine. I stayed silent.

"Come on let's get you some lotion. Can't have my baby being mad and ashy." I allowed her to lead me silently to the bathroom and set me up on the counter. She lotioned my entire body watching me closely for any sign of life. My eyes were blank.

"I don't know what was said in your meeting with Craig Kallman but whatever it is we can figure it together." She placed a delicate hand under my chin while she applied toner to my face.

More silence from me as I stared through her.

"We're a team remember? SiMonèt. When you're ready will you talk to me? I won't pry, and I won't excessively ask questions. I'll wait for you." She dropped some hydrating serum on my face and rubbed it into my skin with delicate fingers. I didn't have the words or brain space to recall the meeting, I didn't want to hurt her. A soft sigh and subtle shoulder shrug was all I could muster.

"I'll take that as a maybe." She said looking at me with her head cocked to the side, her brown eyes pleading with me. She led me out of the bathroom to the living room where she had soft music playing, a tea station set up on the table, blankets and pillows on the couch.

"I figured you wouldn't want to sleep in a wet bed so I made the couch up. I have lavender chamomile and peppermint tea. Which one would you like?" My eyes looked at the first choice.

"Ok" she silently made my mug of tea with extra honey like I liked, then made hers and we sat on the couch.

"Brown Sugar or The Notebook?" She asked, two of my favorites. I stared into my tea not giving an answer.

"The Notebook it is." She queued it up. I put my mug on the table and laid in her lap. I had no words and no feelings as I silently laid like a statue crying into her lap. She rubbed my head because even though she couldn't see my face she knew me well enough to know that I was deeply sad about something.

"I got you babe. I'm right here." She reassured me.

"You got me but who has you?" I thought to myself. I was mentally checked out.

The Year in Recap

The whole year was filled with so much contention and breeding bitterness between Simone and I.

We worked extremely well together when it came to capturing content for video packages, photoshoots and my social media presence. It was like a no brainer. We were good for being professional and slightly flirtatious but not too much where it caused a problem. Simone took feedback great and gave me exactly what I asked for. My image and social media presence were pristine and I was steadily gaining followers and traction.

But when it came to us personally we were a hot mess. I was the hot mess. I found every reason to give her pushback just because I could knowing Simone didn't like arguing, she preferred to conflict resolve which was something "we" were working on with Tia. Me on the other hand wanted to go from 0 to 60. But the make-up sex after an argument was always immaculate.

However, the icing on top of the cake was me reconnecting with the light skinned short haired super tatted gym cutie Kehlani. I may or may not have calculated on running into her back at the gym, and the more I talked to her the less annoying I found her. She was quite charming actually. She was a really good distraction.

It felt like after the meeting with Craig I allowed it to unravel my whole entire world and made no attempt to stop it. I intentionally took it out on the one person who was always in my corner.
